Criminal Behavior : A Psychosocial Approach (7th Edition
This has been an extremely helpful book for criminal justice majors and psychology majors alike. I would reccomend this as a do not sell at the end of the semester, it is one to keep.

Needs more...
I disagree with the many reviews which compare this text to White's Human Osteology. While there is no doubt that the text is informative and the treatment of the subject thorough, Scheuer's text lacks enough illustrations to make it worth the buy for practical use in identifying fragmented juvenile or infant remains. White's text provides at least one photo and description of each bone, usually from every angle. When Scheuer releases a second addition, with far less text, and more photos or illustrations for osteologists who do not have access to a skeletal collection of juvenile and infant bones, then it will be worth the buy.

A must-have reference book
This is a first rate holistic treatment of sub-adult osteology.The text covers the entire juvenile skeleton.Chapters contain drawings of each skeletal element, descriptions of growth, unique developmental attributes and in some cases, illustration of the element through different growth stages to see the sequence of changes of the bone up to adulthood.Read more

Columbo demoted for sloppy crime scene analysis!
This is a 'how to' book:how to secure a crime scene; how to collect fingerprints (and feet, lip, and ear prints); how to identify blood splatter patterns, etc.It's not quite detailed enough to be considered a text book, unless the teacher uses supplementary material, but it is packed full of real-life examples, which is why I read it.

Excellent book from a real expert
This is an excellent book from a real expert. The book of digital crime
If you are new to this world this is where you should begin. Digital Evidence contains all the knowledge one could amass by obtaining PHD in computing. Especially when you don't have time for a Diploma. I have bought 5 books pertain to digital crime from USA and UK. But this is the one and only book I am recommending to any one in any continent who want to learn or new to this arena. All the other books in this field for Attorneys or with similar requirements are some what academic and may be boring.The CD-ROM accompanying the book gives you much needed hands on training, otherwise which will cost you at least US $ 4000, if you are to go to a training centre to do the same.

Best computer forensic book available
Sometimes, defense attorneys have it easy: one slip-up by the prosecution and evidence is thrown out. Knowing that, law enforcement goes to great lengths to ensure that evidence is appropriately collected and protected. That works well in the physical world, where law enforcement has many generations' worth of experience. But in the modern world of computers and digital networks, where the simple act of rebooting a computer is enough to wipe out large amounts of evidence, law enforcement clearly needs thorough guidance. Great undergraduate book
This particular book by Britz, is but one more example of her commitment to detail in all of her works.Like her previous books, this book is both readable and comprehensive.It is one that I myself have adopted in my computer crime course, and I am anxiously awaiting the second edition.The chapters on the legal issues and the history of computer crime are unparalleled in the extant literature.More succinctly, the greatest strength of the book is its' sheer readibility. Designed for undergraduates, this particular text is a must read for any beginner interested in computer crime and computer investigations.Unlike other books in the field which prove to be far too advanced for novices, Britz's book allows even the most unsophisticated reader to appreciate and understand the problems associated with the investigation of computer crime, as well as recognize emerging trends in this area.Please, please, provide a second edition as soon as possible!!

Well Done
"Computer Forensics and Cyber Crime," written by Marjie T. Britz and, publish by Pearson Education Inc., seems to be a very well balance book, why? It just took me few minutes, between reading the introductory notes and "browsing" to its chapters, to understand that this book is well sequenced and organized.
Sadly Dated
This would have been a superb book if it had been published in 2001 or so.Coverage is wide and quite detailed -- unfortunately, it appears the research for the book was done in 2000 (that's the publication date of the msot recent references in the bibliography)and a lot of things have changed since then.

Worst book on the subject.
This was the worst purchase I have ever made.This is a poorly illustrated coffee table book on death.There is no educational value.Although it is obvious that the author (Jay Dix) had great cases during his career, they are very poorly photographed, and the publisher has done a pitiful job of reproducing them.If you have an interest in learning ANYTHING about the world of forensic pathology, this is NOT the book for you.At about a dollar per page, this book is not worth your time. ... I found this book very informative. It covers all the bases with the range of forensic technique discussed. The only draw back ,to me, was it seemed that some areas could have been elaborated on more. Overall this was an excellent book.

Fascinating read
Recommended for anyone with more than a slight interest in forensics. The author nicely divides the book into different categories of forensic science and looks at various cases. Fast read.

A Compelling Read.
I originally choose this book because I was looking for a book to supplement the textbook for my high school forensics class this year.After reading the book I decided to ask my principal to order enough books for my entire class.I think this book is on a very high interest subject and it also contains a lot of factual information.I'm confidant that my students will be as interested in reading the book as I was.

Outstanding resource for the forensic architectural engineer
Robert Day does a fine job of addressing the many modes of foundation failure in a clear and articulate manner.Of special help to the engineer are the numerous case studies presented, and the step-by-step procedures to follow after a failure has occurred - from preliminary investigation and documentation to litigation and expert witness testimony.

Great for general computer forensics information
Computer Forensics, Incident Response Essentials, is a great book for two groups of people:
Good Introduction to Computer Forensics Investigations
This book is a couple years old now, but the fundamentals remain essentially the same. Kruse and Heiser are seasoned experts in computer forensics and incident response and they have managed to boil down years of knowledge and experience into a format that is easy to read and understand. While security experts may not learn anything new from this book, those entering the field will find it invaluable. It is comprehensive and detailed while remaining easy to read. The foundation provided by reading and understanding this book can be used to move forward into more technical areas. Computer Forensics is not fluff by any means though and could easily be kept nearby as a handy reference for a computer forensic investigation.

This thoughtful and interesting book showed that this medical examiner stands above the others.More people should have listened to his evidence in the O. J. Simpson case. In case after case, his careful examinations brought justice where others had failed. Baden is a giant in hsi profession.

As a law enforcement instructor at a police training facility, I found this book to be fantastic for the new recruits we train. As a retired police officer/Crime Scene Analyst, I also realized it would be great for some veteren officers and non-law enforcement personnel to review. Mark Hawthorne has kept the technical information on an easily understandable level. He has covered, in 90 pages, what would take hours of personal instruction. I found the test questions and answers extremely helpful in preparing reviews. This book can be picked up by the patrol officer, and if READ, could furnish much of the information to properly document most any crime scene.
