Although it is certainly due for an update, this is one of the better books on the topic. Highly recommended!

This book was terrible
The author of this book is a SELF-PROCLAIMED expert. much of what he says is utter nonsense and on further research I discovered that the schools being promoted are the schools he himpself owns. Outdated, but imaginative

The Only Proposal Guide You Need
As any graduate student will tell you acceptance onto a Ph.D program is largely based on submitting a successful proposal. Thereafter, as long as the researcher adheres to the proposal, graduation is virtually guaranteed. I am a Ph.D student who used the book to construct my proposal, which was summarily accepted by the research committee with minor changes. Waste of Time and Money
Not only does this book have tons of typos but many of the resources listed seem to no longer exist or will lead you on a wild goose chase if they do exist. The supposed help on how to write essays and resumes states the obvious. For example, they explain that your applications should be free of dirt and stains and should be typed. If you don't already know that, good luck in college. Not for everyone
This book has a lot of information for someone headed to college. Don't bother with it if you are planning on a course of graduate study.
