Knowledge is Power , a MUST READ!
Alot of folks love to criticize Bill Cooper. I personally think he was reporting truths from his experiences & information he got his hands on.He claims right up front that some info may not be accurate.He NEVER claims to be 100% accurate, and gives you his sources for the info, not just opinions.He took a stand to expose secret information he felt the public should know.Whether you agree with him or not, you've got to respect the man. He fought to get this book published & ultimately lost his life holding on to that "stand".It's risk-takers like him that gives us knowledge & information to see hidden truths.Thank you & God Bless you, Bill.Rest in Peace.

This book is not for those who wish to continue living their monotonous and stressful lifestyles. This is meant to make you aware and to further draw your own conclusions.Critical thinkers only!!
Interesting read! But don't rely on Google to discount this author!
I just want to say that this book allows you to draw your OWN conclusions from information a man was able to provide andbecause of that..i find this book interesting and a good read.As for his death, all deaths that look suspicious are NEVER suspicious. As for going on Google to find out about the "real" Cooper; let it be said that you need to do alot more research on someone than going to Google to take something as FACT! Google is NOT the most reliable source, it is simply what it is; A SOURCE OF INFORMATION. The book is worth the read. Especially the part of the book that speaks about FEMA; any one heard of LA riots, Katrina? He speaks on FEMA's role very candidly and we can use both these instances as to how true he was in this area of his book. Romanticism.
This book did not start it all, consider all the other communist publications of the time period. Also the artistic movement at the time, which was the romantic era. That has nothing to do with lovey duvey romance of today, and Karl Marx would have hated all the "dictators" that have enslaved so many people. If you cant see that obviously you havent read it, thats why it cannot work. Its too perfect of an overall view of people and the economy for equality. Romanticism.

PRESENT AT THE FOUNDATION OF MODERN COMMUNISM
If you are a revolutionary, a radical or merely a liberal activist you must come to terms with the theory outlined in the Communist Manifesto. Today's activists are obviously not the first political activists to face this challenge. Radicals, revolutionaries and liberals have had to come to terms with the Manifesto at least since 1848 when it was first published and that same necessity; perhaps surprisingly to some given the changes in the political landscape since then, is true today. Why surprisingly? On the face of it given the political situation today it would appear somewhat absurd to make such a claim about the necessity of coming to terms with the overriding need for the revolutionary overturn of the capitalist order outlined in the Manifesto. With the collapses of the Soviet Union and the Soviet-influenced Eastern European states about fifteen years ago, which were supposedly based on Marxist concepts, one would think that Marxism was a dead letter. But hear me out. Even the less far-sighted apologists for the international capitalist order are now worrying about the increasing gap between rich and poor, not only between the so-called first and third worlds but also within the imperialist metropolitican centers themselves. Nowhere is that more evident that in the United States where the gap has dramatically increased over the last thirty years. Thus, despite the carping of the `death of communism' theorists after the decisive capitulation of international Stalinism an objective criterion exists today to put the question of class struggle and of the validity of a materialist concept of history back on the front burner.
Hate Litterature
When I read this, I was not expecting to become a commie, but at least I was hoping for something more compelling than the pure hatred of people who have more than others and the racist concsipracy theories (especially re Jews) that the authors came up with.

can anything good come out of a fear focus?
My life is no longer run by fear.After reading 20-30 conspirator books, I see nothing but some facts with weak links targeted to intelligent people that become an elitist to fight against other elitists. Look at some of the major failures."Population bomb" predicted 1/2 the world starving to death by 1980.Y2K embarrassment.Rapture, baised on liberal and bad Bible theology.Wise people need to spend their time with real people on local problems that are real and fixable.

Search for the Guilty
Jones belongs to that school of thought that believes behind every failure of a system, or every historical cycle, there lies a guilty party. This search for conspirators is the sort of thing that generally leads to pogroms and inquisitions.

The twisted mind of the jihadist
Mary Habek avoids polemics and sticks to pedagogy in this precise account of the nature and history of radical Islam's ideology.The title is somewhat sensational, but the text is not inflammatory.This is expository writing at its best.Habek knows just how much detail to include to explain her subject without fatiguing her readers.
Lucid Writing on a Murky Subject
Reading the Koran sheds little light on what drives Islamists. The key to understanding them lies in the Koranic interpretations of certain influential scholars.
Good, But Limited
The author gives a good account of the intellectual history behind the Islamic Jihadi movement.There are 52 pages of notes giving references for further reading and research.The basic story is that by interpreting the Muslim scriptures of Qur'an and Hadith literally, Jihadists justify their war against everyone who thinks differently than they do.Important in this is the notion of naskb which can be translated as "abrogation" to justify ignoring the earlier, more tolerant sections of the Qur'an and following the later ones.

Very nice
Great complilation of a variety of important writtings by Marx and Engels!The book is put together chronologically and by subject matter complete with notes from the editor containing interesting facts relating to the pieces.The Reader includes not only excerpts from major works such as Captital, the Manifesto, and the Grundrisse, but also include early Marx essays and manuscripts, even oddly enough letters Marx wrote to his father while studying at university.This book is all you need to get a grasp on the thoughts of Marx and Engels.

I Loved This Book
An observation and common criticism of the book, both in this little Amazon fishbowl and elsewhere, is that Nozick takes givens, starts the arguments, and proceeds without initial justification of his givens.
Viscous or Brilliant?
When I neared the end of this book, I was learning so much, I couldn't believe how I drudged through it in the beginning. Except that I did so for a reason.

It should be mandatory reading foranyone who wouldstart making sense of the differences between pre-Reagan and post-Reagan political views of the world.By comparing the style and substance of this book with Rawl's Theory of Justiceone might learn much about the philosophies that have driven the politics of these two eras.

One of the bases of today's fundamentalist Islam
This treatis on political Islam is helpful in understanding the mindset of violent Muslim Jihadists in today's world.You may disagree with the logic--or after close study lack thereof, in this book.I wish this volume included a better introduction of who the historical Sayyid Qutb was, it helps put this volume and what it was/is trying to accomplish in its proper context.
The Muslim "Mein Kampf"
If it weren't for the fact that Qutb had and has millions of followers before and after the Egyptians had him hanged for his rantings, it would be easy to dismiss this book as the Muslim equivalent of Hitler's Mein Kampf.

We can only credit Qutb with identifying the true enemies of Islam. Him and those who think as he does have single handily, in our modern times, seduced the youth into believing in his heresy and deviance. Anyone who credits this troublemaker with any goodness can only be classified as the enemy of Prophet Muhammed's (saw) legal ways and examples. Qutb uses modern unislamic political thought to frame the discussions on how to "revive" the Islamic world while neglecting many authentic hadiths to that effect. How this fool has strayed from the path of the righteous Muslims of the past, only Allah (swt) knows but anyone with the slightest knowledge of Qutbs history will know that he has, in fact, been influenced by the French and Russian Revolutions and its architects, not to mention Hassan Al- Banna the goofy Sufi from the slums of Egypt. When Al-Banna wasn't perverting the minds of the Muslim youth in Egypt he could be found worshipping around the graves of the deceased, a popular Sufi practice.

Who really knew Sol Alinsky?
Soon I will celebrate my 84th birthday; I'm originally from NYC and lived in the West Bronx where I saw and heard Sol Alinsky speak at building cooperatives and other organizational events on various occasions. Sol Alinsky was NOT a Marxist and those who attribute this to him never saw or heard him when he was a young and very alive human being. He was an honest, sincere American patriot.

A mirror of world events
If you would like to understand what is happening in the Middle East, read what happened in Afghanistan much earlier.This book puts the current world conflict in perspective.Then,you should read "Jihad" by the same author.
Worth your money.
I just got done finishing this book.It is well-written and informative.There are alot of reviews praising this book, so I don't have to say much.I will just state that you can read books by so-called Taliban experts, or you can read it from areal expert.Ahmed Rashid is somebody who actually interviewed members of the Taliban, and observed the causes and effects of the Taliban takover, since he visited and stayed in Afghanistan for an extended period of time.
