Great Eye Candy
This is one of the best photography books I have seen. The guys being photographed are sexy and are having fun.

BestAnti-Pornography Book Ever
It may be a long read, but it covers practically everything one needs to know about pornography, including the "pro pornography" side. It has two wonderfully written introduction pieces, by MacKinnon and Dworkin respectively.
Pure genious
This is, by far, the best book on the subject I have ever read. If you sneer and think I�m hyping here, then you are not familiar with the brilliant mind of Andrea Dworkin and what she is capable of. But if you are familiar with her and are interested in gender issues, then this read should be an epiphany. In these oppressive times, questions as those dealt with in this book are as important as the fact that USA andWestern Europe are exploiting Third World countries. We need to give feminists our attention, in order for them to remind us of the many ways women are oppressed, in the same way we need to be reminded that child labour and slavery never disappeared, we just moved it to the developing countries, where we didn't have to see it or call it American or European (even though it is; just look at who abuses the Free-Trade Zones). Dworkin/MacKinnon: Meese/Dobson: the domestic violence nexus
This book is a product of the Meese Commission established by President Reagan to repudiate the findings of the Nixon-appointed Commission investigating pornography which, after wide consultation, found no evidence that exposure to pornography leads to criminal conduct.The Meese Commission avoided coming to this "wrong" conclusion by not calling for or consulting studies (in the peer-reviewed academic sense) and instead relying on anecdotal claims largely supplied by MacKinnon and Dworkin.Read more

The real obscenity...
Jenkins tackles a very difficult subject in a very professional manner. As Dennis Littrell suggested, Jenkins realizes that the 'trap the end user' approach will never even slow down the growth of this disturbing industry, and some of the more Draconian measures being suggested in some circles would only damage the freedom to surf of normal everyday users.
This book got me through my dissertation!!
This is an excellent book.Jenkins provides you with a wealth of information.By conducting his own original research into the newsgroups he gains a first-hand insight into the thoughts and involvments of these individuals, something quite unique!

disturbing, groundbreaking work
Why aren't more people familiar with this book?It reads like a great novel and is full distrubing news:child pornography is a real problem on the internet.The book describes the inflitration of the kiddie porn community on the net by Jenkins and how this underground group of many thousands exhange images of child sex abuse.He writes very clearly about the recent history of child pornography and its explosive growth since the advent of the internet.Read more

Wonderful book
If anyone could possibly appreciate this book, it would be me.I too, am a phone sex operator just like the author of this book (except I really AM a woman and don't just pose as one). The industry would collapse if all men read this book

Lucious Literature!
I found this book via the LA Times Bestseller list in December, and gave it to a few of my friends as holiday gifts. They have all raved about this book, and have found it to be "inspirational", to say the least! The caliber of writing is quite outstanding, leading me to believe that the title was perhaps a bit misleading. There's a bit of something in this anthology to appeal to everyone's sexual taste. I've even learned a few new tricks to add to my roster of activities! Very giggly and fun
Really enjoyed this smart collection...some of it's funny, some of it's mildly disturbing, but none of it's boring. A must-have for every woman's nightable (and man's too!). See a live reading if you can when these gals are on tour. You won't forget it.

Who Cares?
Pornographic filmmaker LaBruce deposits assorted columns he authored for a music magazine in this oddly formatted book complemented by photographs. The columns cover everything from drag queens to frustrations of shooting porn films, but fail to answer the question why the reader should care about what this guy has to say.Personally, I found the layout cloyingly annoying and really could have lived without the pictures. For porn film aficionados and those seeking a cheap thrill.

Hysterically funny
This is a hysterically funny, name-dropping memoir about the travails of underground filmmaker Bruce LaBruce. By hooking the reader with great gossip about numerous queer and underground celebrities, LaBruce shareswith us his very unorthodox philosophy of life. While I don't necessarilyagree with his post-queer/post-gay message, the book is hysterically funny.If you loved any of LaBruce's movies, you will definitely dig this book!

Top Heavy
BUILT! MORE by Bruno Gmunder and Ron Lloyd seeks to celebrate the hard beauty of the athletic and muscular male physique. While the cover photo certainly enticed me to purchase the book, I must admit to being somewhat disappointed by the pages between the covers. Unlike the beef on the cover, too many of the models lacked balance (over developed chests and arms and underdeveloped legs and abs). Moreover, many of these muscular men had that arificial "steroid look" that seems to celebrate pharmacology over genuine masculinity.

We're all not THAT bad
There is MUCH wisdom in this book on satan and his temptations, but I feel like it focuses too much on people who are realy-realy having problems with porn, and it is a TRUE addiction to them. It puts the spin that any problem with porn, must be to the point of true addiction where they're hiding it, and can't seem to take a break from it when anyone else is less then 20 miles away from them. BUT if they are closer then it becomes a game of a sadistic rush in the posibility of being caught. I am not that bad, so I only give it 3 stars. FOR those who ARE that bad, if people like that are at a point of humility where they want help, this book is for you.

help for a friend
People laugh when I say my friend, Br--t is addicted to pornography.they say it isnt that bad, but it is that bad when your friend does it so much that you never get to see him anymore.My friend was very smart and funny and we all liked hanging out with him, but ever since he moved from home into his own place we never see him because of it.One time i went to his house and he said 'do you want to see my harem?"and he showed me on his computer all of his files of naked women.Then he showed me his plasma tv and we were watching Star Trek III the Wraith of Kahn and he said "Let's watch something else."And he put in a Playboy video of naked girls.i was so sickened i left.I also know he doesnt just watch them, but does other acts taht I wont say here because he told me and said "theres nothing wrong with it."Well, there is!!! One time I went to his place and his car was there and he wouldnt come tot he door and i knew why.So i waited for him.Because thats what friends do, peo-ple!! They W>A>I>T> for friends who are in trouble abd need help.So when I get the money I'm going to buy this booka nd send it to him and i wont tekl him it was me, it will just say "from a friend..."

Incredible, Life Changing. A must read for all men!
I would like to HIGHLY recommend this book to any man or women who is trapped in the addiction cycle of pornography, masturbation and any other sexual sin.I have read many other books and none even comes close to this book.I did not find any psychology in this book, just pure truth and reality as reflected by the Words of God.Pastor David A. Wagner does an excellent job describing the problems, the cause and effect to all types of sexual sin and gives practical ways out of this addiction cycle and sin.Please get a copy for youself and for others to read so that they too may find freedom from sexual sin. ... Not what I was looking for
I would not recommend this book for someone looking for personal histories of prostitutes, johns, pimps, etc.To be honest, opening the book at almost any page, one is confronted with the most tedious 'sociological' jargon: tongue-twisting sentences,theoretical analyses of 'data', 'semi-structured interview schedules'...The lack of an index is a big drawback in a book of essays: it is impossible to find the answers to the interesting-sounding questions proposed by the jacket blurb (eg. 'Is it possible for prostitutes to enjoy their work?') without becoming tired of wading through statistics and jargon.I think this is of more interest to other academics working in the same field.I like the cover though.

A life worth reading
In February of 1994, I, along with many other horny college students around the nation, was fascinated by an Esquire article documenting "feminists who don't hate sex!" Lisa Palac had one of the more memorable lines as she attempted to describe the appeal of S/M; she called for her men to "degrade me when I ask you to." Obviously, this was not your average pundit, a fact emphasized by her r�sum�: co-founder of Future Sex magazine, producer of the Cyborgasm CD series and now author of an excellent memoir, The Edge of the Bed. Palac relates her upbringing, revisiting her Catholic childhood, her parents' loveless marriage and her subsequent attempts at establishing romantic relationships in the stormy sexual climate of San Francisco with an energetically bouncing prose and a self-deprecating gift for the dramatic. Along the way, she finds time to state her views on pornography, cybersex and sexual honesty, drawing you into her life with a magnetic charisma. She writes with a uniquely modern voice, one capable of tackling thorny issues with intelligence, irreverence and a quick wit.Hers is a life worth reading, and, with only 35 years behind her, there should be plenty more to come.

A Welcome Voice on Sex and Who We Are
I really enjoyed this book. Palac's approach to what can be such a loaded subject is playful and light. Her core idea is that each of our sexual identities is unique, and that we have a right, almost an obligation, to honor and explore it. She is tolerant of diversity, but at the same time she pulls no punches in condemning those who would belittle and shame us for our natural drives. Palac is/was a Roman Catholic, as am I, and her chapter on the role of the Church in robbing her of her sexual identity is very compelling. The idea that pornography can be healthy, and that women have a right to enjoy it, is an idea whose time has come. I give this book 5 stars because it is a welcome look at an aspect of our lives which is frequently stunted and shrouded with shame. Palac has opened a window letting in fresh air.

good but not great
Palac's book is good and gives us insight into her mind, but I was hoping to find more of a debate about whether pornography is good or evil.She doesn't really get into that.(If she did, yes, I know she'd come out onthe side of good, but the point is to figure out _how_ she came to thatconclusion.)The book is a little too much the story of her life -- butactually, that's what the title/blurb promise us, so really, I shouldn't becomplaining. ...
