Good practice - but also some good advice
I'm sure everyone knows that there are three preptests in this book. They are from three February exams which are usually undisclosed.
GET THIS BOOK
At first, I wasted my time with prep materials not written by the LSAC.Many of the questions seemed too easy or too hard.Additionally, many of these materials are plagued with typos, misreads and incorrect arguments.I suppose this is due to them being written by one, or maybe just a few, author(s).In contrast, the LSAT superprep is great.The questions are real LSAT tests from the past and the explanations help greatly.There are no typos I have found yet and the level of questions are much more realistic (actually, they're REAL so they must be realistic :). True, the material might be a bit dull at times but, Hey, that's how the test is anyway.You're not getting this book for entertainment, you're getting it to ace the LSAT.Good luck!

Highly Useful LSAT Prep Book
This book has some of the most cogent/coherent explanations and general overview of question types that LSAC has ever produced.The explanations are top quality and the overview is good.

Helpful guide
Although I've written many research papers, I found this book to be a great guide to help me 'fill in' the missing pieces in my work.It provides useful guidelines in all phases of research writing, from picking the right topic to statistical techniques.

Practical Research Book Review
Great book, it is very easy to follow and understand.It provides great samples and guides on how to do a research paper. I certainly would recommend it to anyone that needs help or guidance on research project writing.

Required Reading
Practical Research actually is required reading for my Ph.D. Since it is a text book is does cost a lot. It was the same price at Amazon as it would have been to order it through my university. However, the shipping was free with Amazon, so I came out ahead. The book is well written, in plain English. The advice is practical. Some of the advice about using technology is a bit behind the times, but that is to be expected. The font size is small, but this would not be a problem for most people under 40. ... Read more

Fantastic book - Recommended for anyone serious about good grades
I read this book right after trying to apply IRAC to my first midterm and doing horribly. After reading the first 50 pages I knew exactly what I did wrong and how I could have handled the question differently. I recommend also doing LEEWS as both methods are similar in that they teach you how to answer legal questions from both sides and arrive at a thoughtful response

Excellent book
I bought this book prior to beginning law school on the advice of the summer reading list.Although I haven't gotten through even my first semester, already what I have read has really made things in class seem clearer and I feel much more confident for the exam.I wholly recommend it.

I only spent time with the math section
I took the GRE for the second time three weeks ago and did better than I expected. When I took the test before (2001), I had used the Princeton Review material (Cracking the GRE), and it definitely gave me excellent pointers on approaching the questions, guessing effectively, and managing my time. As a result, I got a 660 on the math last time -- pretty good. But I felt that the actual math instruction in PR was a little skimpy, and I got Kaplan's GRE/GMAT Math Review and this Barron's book (the 2006 edition).
Good refresher
This book definately serves its purpose.If you need a good review on math and vocab this book can help.Also the tips on answering questions are extremely useful.I wouldn't use this as my only tool before taking the GRE but it is a huge help.

Law Enforcement Exam
I ordered this book to brush up on some basic math that I haven't used in many years. I got it in order to do better on my law enforcement exam. This book covered everything that I needed. It was just right! It walks through the basics and works one up to more complex problems. It includes clear explanations on how to solve the problem and then provides a practice test for each area covered. It even offers some tricks to keep in mind when encountering certain problems. Perfect for a refresher!

Very Low level book
I bought this with hope to get my brain used to solving complicated problems quickly. However, the quality of excercises in this book is very very low. I could have made up any of the excercises in the book. Unsatisfied, I returned it in 2 days. Do not buy it if you are very good or even avarage at math. This will not help you.

For the price, the best book out there, and probably the only one you need
I took the CAT based GRE general test on 9/1/06. To prepare, I got this book, as well as "The Ultimate Math Refresher", the larger Barrons book, and the ETS book.
Great info and tips
This is excellent to brush up before taking the GRE.The tips are so useful and easy to remember.I would definately recommend this.

Portable is Good
The Barron's books are always great. This only gets 4 stars because the normal size book is obviously better because it is more detailed and has more examples. Exceeded my expectations
This book changed the way I design my college level courses in a very effective and enjoyable way. It will give you a lot of insight on the design of courses that will encourage students to continue learning.I also enjoyed all the reference on the results of scientific work that deals with innovative teaching methods. You will love this book.

Detailed ideas applied 2 work equals a new answer.
This book is worth it. I graduated from a graduate program (in education) and this information has increased/expanded my knowledge as to how things must be done in the classroom (when teaching, when testing, and when lecturing). For example, each square of information must be related to the other square of information in order to reach ones point with ones students. Education is about detail. Let this information from this book change the way you see and teach the information you have obtained a degree in. Let it take you to new spheres, or portals of information that were always present in the work that you do, but that you never saw because one lacked the tools in order to open up those worlds. Create beauty in the work that you create (in the quizzes, in the lesson plans, in the rubrics chart, in the surveys, etc.) What you lecture must be from the book, and what you assign for reading must mirror the lecture, and that equals learning.

Used book to Pass Army Flight Test
I was surprised that this book was "on it" when it came to the test questions that they ask you. I can't speak how well it is when it comes to the other branch tests, but it helped me prepare for the test giving me a passing score.

Great Resource for the Dissertation
I found this book to be a great resource as I am doing research for my dissertation. It has helped me to look at the lit review in a new light and has given me several ideas of others avenues to search.

This book is great.It has all you need to complete a research paper at any level.I used it for my bachelor's project which, according to my advisor, is equivalent to a Master's thesis in content requirement.My advisor has asked me to lend him the book so he can use it to revise the current research manual supplied by the college.This book is easy to read and has a lot of useful tables and charts.

Only book you need to pass CWNA test
This is the one of the best technical books I've read. Clear and detailed explanations, easy to read, 'not dry' - it gives you what you need to pass CWNA and more. You will return to this book every now and then in need for good explanation of wireless foundation (RF math, surveying, security, standards...). When studying, I ALWAYS use Internet as an aid in preparing for exams, and I did this time, too. It helps to read another author's lines to deepen your knowledge, or just to find another examples of the subject. Don't get me wrong: this book really IS your only study guide, but it is worth to take few steps more to be sure you do well on the test (after all, it's your money). It is important to visit CWNP's web page at www.cwnp.com for current errata. I used this book as preparation for CWNA exam and passed it with over 90%. But don't think CWNA is easy: prepare well, pay attention to details (!), be sure you REALLY understand what your are reading, take your time to prepare, and good luck!

The book covers all the topics and is a complete study guide but it does not include any practice test for the exam.

great book
This is a great review book, it got me 100% on my first anesthesia test!!!

Great prep for written boards
I thought this Q&A review book was easily the most "bang for the buck" in preparation for the written boards. It does require a solid fundamental knowledge of anesthesiology, but the questions are very representative of written board-type questions, and the answers are comprehensive and largely satisfactory. Textbook references are fairly comprehensive and accurate. I highly recommend this book as a final step in preparation for the written boards!

Kaplan is Horrible!
I got the book.Signed up for the website.Then didn't have time to study for a while because of work.When I finally had time to use the book and study, my internet access (where a lot of important suppliments are) was cut off because it was passed the assumed amount of time.I tried getting it restored, but Kaplan was no help.
Not 800, but not bad
GMAT 800 is a very popular book. Whoever at Kaplan came up with the name ought to get a raise and an immediate promotion to the head of the marketing department. Everybody wants an 800, and we'd all like to think that working really hard through the materials in one book will get us there.
Good overview after you have completed all other preperation books
I think this book gives a good overview of the main concepts.This book needs to be completed after you have other GMAT materials, e.g. Kaplat GMAT guide, the Official GMAT Review.The quantitative section covers many of the questions that are very similar to the ones you see in the actual GMAT.These tough questions in quant really helps.The quant questions in the actual GMAT are much harder than the practice questions in official review.However this book covers many of the tougher questions. ... Excellent!Wish I had bought it months ago.
I wish I had this book when I was doing my final core class preparing my prospectus.I had it on my 'wish list'.It would have made things much easier if I had obtained it earlier.I read it one sitting.Written in layman's terms.The best book out of several that I have bought to prepare for my dissertation.Highly recommend this as the one to obtain!You will find it valuable.

Handy Guide
This book is providing me with excellent guidance throughout my dissertation process. Honestly, it has even been more helpful than my advisor. As many doctoral students do, I keep odd hours while writing, often getting my best ideas in the middle of the night. It is great to be able to access my handy advisor 24/7, meaning that my ideas have been easily acted upon no matter what time of day or night I think of them. A bit pricey, but well worth it for me.

Comprehensive and Clear
This is an outstanding guide for the dissertation process. I have consulted several other similar works on how to write a dissertation but this is the one I have relied on the most because it is comprehensive and very easy to follow.The entire text can be read in a few hours for a very good over view of the process.Then it becomes a very handy "survival" life line when problems come up. ... I got into my first choice program with this
In the fall of 2003, I applied to 7 top PhD programs in my field (in the sciences), including the 5 best.Although I had graduated from the top Ivy League university, I had worked for 5 years and wasn't sure how I'd present myself to the graduate programs.I had reasonably good GRE scores, but all of my recommendations were from industry, so I needed to massage my personal statement to reflect strong industrial experience.

Summarize the important information from graduate school! To student who wants to apply graduate school, especially for non english speaking students. Author has good sense of humor. He also gives us key points in applying schools and how the schools cope with different students' application.

saving my behind
This book is saving my behind. I was in college 10 years ago and dropped out, had three kids. Now I am in a prenursing program at a competitive university. I hadn't touched chemistry in over 15 years I believe. My first month of intro to chem was hell even with all the workshops and going to office hours until I picked up this book. My stinking textbook is horrible to read. I have a few other books on chemistry and this is the only one that is really making a difference for me.
great for tutoring with
I bought three different books to use this summer to tutor a high school student in Chemistry before she goes into the class in the fall.This one is by far the best.It is clear, concise, well-written, with good exercises and good explanations.It would be nice if it had a few more exercises so she could get a lot of practice, but other than that, I'm finding it an excellent resource.

Beautiful!
This book should be read by anyone who wants to master the fundamentals of chemistry. I use this book to prepare for the med school entrance exam here in Europe, and I owe the authors a big thank you for helping me progress in this subject which is, or was, at least a big obstacle for me.

Very helpfull for the National Exam
This book helped a lot when I was studying for the Vet Tech national boards.There were some repeat questions but that wasn't a problem.The questions got you thinking and some of the questions in the book were on the board test.

A Wonderful Study Tool for Vet Techs AND Instructors!
I used the second edition book back when I took (and aced) the VTNE for my Oregon certification. Let me also state that I "grandfathered in" as a Certified Veterinary Technician, meaning that what I knew, I'd picked up along the many years working in the field, as opposed to a formal academic environment.Years later,I used the 3rd edition for the California State Board Exam.The tests are similar enough that I passed the latter with flying colors (after all, the science is the same, regardless of geography!)I owe much of the success in both cases to the Colville guide.
Review Questions and Answers for Veterinary Technicians
I used this text to study for my national boards two years ago and recommend to all of the students I encounter. It's a great way to test yourself before you take the exam. I purchased it about 6 weeks prior to. Each section gives you multiple choice questions about the knowledge you have already obtained. You can then grade yourself on the sections and see what weak areas you may need to "touch up on" before you test. It's well worth the money. I passed the exam, and felt it prepared me. ... An excellent resource for English as a Second Language classrooms or self-study for students learning English

Francis Nails It!
Never before in my 20 years of E.S.L. teaching have I seen a better idioms textbook. A Year in the Life is simple to use, is extremely comprehensive, and helps meet a need for relevant, structured, higher level material dealing with spoken English. There are a variety of exercises and activities that can be utilized/skipped according to needs and tastes, and the extensive definitions and examples make it possible for students to learn correct usage at home.
