1-0 out of 5 stars I want my money back
I didn't like one story in this book other than Kenyon's, and even that wasn't her best. The book was actually so bad that I resent the money I paid for it.And to add insult to injury, the other book I bought that was a compilation including Kenyon was only slightly better -- which is not saying much.Just a total waste of money.

2-0 out of 5 stars If Books were DVDs, these would be the extras...
I came to this book as a big fan of Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark-Hunter series, but I hadn't read any of the other authors.I usually love collections like this, because I can read a shorter story by authors I'm not familiar with and can decide if I want to try a full-length novel. But too often lately, authors are starting to use anthologies as nothing more than "backstory" for their own series (L.A. Banks even says as much in the author's note to her story here), and don't strive to entertain those who aren't already familiar with their work, which leaves a large portion of the readership feeling left out of the joke.
3-0 out of 5 stars Love at First Bite Tickles
Although all of the stories definitely delivered on the theme, I found I enjoyed "Ride the Night Wind" by L.A. Banks and "The Forgotten One" by Rhonda Thompson the most.

4-0 out of 5 stars Worth the price if only for Wroth...
I purchased this collection because I am a HUGE fan of Sherrilyn Kenyon and I had read some of her other BAD(Bureau of American Defense) stories and I thought this would be a fun read.
3-0 out of 5 stars 5 stars for K. Cole's story alone
I gave the whole book 3 stars because the only story that is any good and worth reading at all is Kresley Cole's. 5 stars for her. The other 2 stories were boring and made me regret buying the book, but at least K. Cole ends it with her entertaining love story of Wroth and Myst, a kind of prequil to her book A Hunger Like No Other. Get the book and skip the 1st 2 stories.

5-0 out of 5 stars New TalentKresleyCole
I bought the book for Kenyon. Her story was a dud. I have read Jaid Black's viking series. This was acceptible. I had tried to read a previuos historical by Cole and didn't like. I don't usaully read the off authors. I read cole and was pleasnatly surpised. Coles story saved this anthology. Thus the 5 stars. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A Collection of Stories....
..some were good. Some were bad. I especially loved Party Planner by Meg Cabot, Traveling Light by Carole Matthews, and Here Come Harry, by Jessica Adams. But my most favorite one was Don't You Know Who I Am?, by Adele Lang. It was as if Edina from the hit Brititsh show, Absolutely Fabulous, was telling that story. It was a terrific read!!
5-0 out of 5 stars Great and entertaining
This book is good from beginning to end. They are short stories though so each story only has a little bit of content.I really wished that the stories were longer because right as I got into them, they ended. You definitely have to make your own conclusions and assumptions at the end of each story. That part is unclear. It makes you wonder if you're assumptions are on the right track....hmmm.

4-0 out of 5 stars Chick lit short story fun!
I really enjoyed some of the stories in this book. The first story, by Meg Cabot, had me laughing out loud at the antics of a nervous party planner.Jennifer Weiner's story (of Good in Bed's Cannie) from the male perspective, was really good.

4-0 out of 5 stars Feehan does it again.
This book is interesting in that it highlights the ancients that were sent out before the time period of the other books.

5-0 out of 5 stars Could NOT Put this one Down!
This is my first time reading Amanda Ashley & Rhonda Thomson, but definitely not my last! Both are now that greatest of all finds--new favorite authors! I can't remember the last time I read a collection of short stories, but I wanted to sample these authors in hopes of finding more paranormal romances to enjoy. I'm new to this genre, the closest I came was Rice's vampire series, now seen as incomparable in excitement, sensuality, and satisfaction. I've seen the future & it's not Rice or her Lestat.2-0 out of 5 stars Two stories okay, one very poor - not a keeper
If you like vampire romances - as I do - you might think that this book is worth buying; after all, it offers three different vampire-type romances from different authors. But, as with all anthologies, quality varies and in the end it's not worth the purchase price.Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Not unreadable, nothing special
Novelettes for the beach, perhaps. These are 4 novelettes (or novellas, I've never really been able to tell the difference) written especially for this collection. Many people will see this book pop up because they've purchased other J.D. Robb books, and if you are someone who is collecting every single bit of the "In Death" series, then I suppose you'll need this one. However, it's not really a very good story in the series. The theme of the book being "paranormal" stories, Robb has to try to fit something spooky into Eve's normally rational and scientific world, and frankly, I don't find that it fits well. The story and the plot itself depend entirely on things that could have happened in 2006 as easily as 2060; the part that's supposed to make it 2060 is that the murder has been done with a gun, and guns are quite rare in 2060, so that the other detectives and the medical examiner's office are not familiar with gunshot wounds. But the entire story could have been written without the paranormal element supposedly being there, or set in any year in the modern era, and would have been almost exactly the same.
5-0 out of 5 stars JD ROBB Rocks
She is the best!! I can not wait for her next books.

5-0 out of 5 stars only some of the stories

3-0 out of 5 stars Not one of the best or brightest but still loved...
Although I love all of Sherrilyn Kenyon's books, I couldn't really get into this one.

3-0 out of 5 stars Two left me humming for more--Two left me wondering-Is it over?
Darkfest by Amanda Ashley and Phantom Lover by Sherrilyn Kenyon were great.I loved them. However, Under Her Spell by Maggie Shayne and A Wulf's Curse by Ronda Thompson made me want to skip paragraphs and whole pages just to get it over with.

4-0 out of 5 stars 5 Stars for the Sherrilyn Kenyon Offering- ORIGINAL!
WOW! The novella written by Sherrilyn Kenyon was a standout in my mind- it opens with action and twists and turns and fantasy adventure right out of a video game or dark fantasy movie- then wham! We find out the heroine is dreaming....her dark and disquieting nightmares lead her on a journey into a fantasy realm of Greek Gods and mythology and tormented immortals that really captured my imagination. Her hero is a dark soul who wins fair maiden's heart by trickery and is punished for it....

5-0 out of 5 stars thoroughly enjoyed
This is another book in the dark series that was hard to put down. I felt as if I was one of the characters and hated for it to end. The author kept me intrigued from beginning to end. I was excited about starting the next book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Vampires, Lycans, and King Arthur, OH MY!!
I'll keep this short and sweet.I enjoyed all stories in this anthology.I have not been able to say that before.Feehan does a great job with her Carpathians as always, but the ending was a little too abrupt.Being from Louisiana myself, I loved Shayne's rendition of "loup-garou" mixed with voodoo.Holly was not to be outdone by two very experienced writers. Her vampire she calls an upyr was very hot and sexy. The hardest story to swallow was by Angela Knight. It is hard to wrap one's mind around the ideas that King Arthur is a vampire as well as the rest of his Knights. The idea of Morganna being a witch wasn't hard, but that she used her powers for the good of mankind was a bit much to swallow if you know the other tales of King Arthur. However, this was definitely a hot blooded, sexy as hell story.I'll say it again, just like my title,VAMPIRES, LYCANS, AND KING ARTHUR, OH MY!!!Great Book!!

5-0 out of 5 stars A greataddition to any collection that will have you looking for more
They stories are ranged each different and encompassing the reader to keep going. The final in the book a great look into a another version of King Arthur and his knights as vampire. Very addictive and you just have to know more.Excellant works ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars *OH YEAH BABY!*
I loved this book!Talk about quick thrills!Every time I see the movie "Wedding Date" and reference is made to "Mr. Tie Me Up Tie Me Down" I think of this book!I have not been happy lately with Sherrilyn Kenyon's books, not enough sex!But this one is FABULOUS!Hot, hot sex!
3-0 out of 5 stars Not as exciting as I expected
"Captivated" By You: Sherrilyn Kenyon-- focuses on 2 agents from a secret government agency, Bureau of American Defense (BAD), who have long been attracted to each other, but never acted on their feelings. Our heroine, Rhea Stevenson is assigned as a dominatrix to capture a terrorist, but first needs practice to perfect her technique. Fellow agent "Ace" Krux volunteers to be her training slave, and their attraction takes over from there.

4-0 out of 5 stars 3 in 1
Three short stories in one. A quick read while traveling or a rainy day! First of any of these that I have read...too much on one area and not enough on other areas but a good one to read. Like on the first at the end of more details of the couple getting back together, the second just find the woman a husband and the third too much on the past just go on; will have to read each of these authors books to see if they are written like this or because it was a 3 in 1.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great Collection!
These 3 "mini-books" were great for a weekend reading session. Each was just long enough to satisfy, but short enough not to get boring.

5-0 out of 5 stars Three tales of romance, holiday cheer, and second chances
What's better than a tale filled with romance, holiday cheer, and second chances? Three of them.

4-0 out of 5 stars It's fun to be BAD
If I understand correctly, some of the stories in this anthology were previously published in other anthologies, but since I've only recently "discovered" (read: finally caved in to friends' recommendations) Sherrilyn Kenyon's books, that wasn't a problem.I've also only read a couple of the Dark Hunter books so far, so I didn't have any preconceptions in that direction either.
3-0 out of 5 stars Just OK!
I have grown to love most of Sherrilyn Kenyon's work, however, I felt at times that she was trying "a little too hard". There were times when she just seemed to be going through the motions. It wasn't that this book of short stories (One Bad Night,Bad to the Bone and Captivated by You)were horrible, they just seemed to lack something..maybe they were too short. However, the one saving grace is the continuing story of Tee and Joe, who evetually have to get together if for no other reasons than the fans. But if you would like a quick read, with some entertaining sex scenes, read Born to be Bad.

2-0 out of 5 stars Quick read, but it gets old fast
Born to be BAD is a collection of three novellas about members of BAD, the Bureau of American Defense.I hadn't read any of these stories before, so I didn't have the problems that other reviewers did with them being previously published. The BAD series is one of my least favorite of Kenyon's series, but these stories weren't all that bad.

If you've been curious about Ivy in Kim Harrison's series then this is worth a read as it gives some insight into vampire politics, Ivy's personality and why she often behaves the way she does.

I picked up this book because I like Kelley Armstrong's writing. (And her story is the best of the bunch)

Kim Harrison: 3 stars, maybe 3 1/2 because the story line was actually entertaining. But it assumed you'd read her other books, and anyone who hasn't must have felt lost.

5-0 out of 5 stars Sizzling, Suspense Romance
What a great anthology written by Rosemary Laurey, Karen Kelley and Dianne Castell. These are three intertwining stories set in the little town of Silver Gulch, Texas. On the death of their Grandfather, three sisters, who did not know anything about the other, inherit from his Estate. Apparently his son, Drew, had three daughters from three different women but never supported any of them. With that note the fun is about to begin.

LUSCIOUS by Lori Foster. When Bethany Churchill moves in with her twin sister, Marci, the last thing she expects to find is a man who is interested in her. Not her gorgeous, self-assured, confident sister, but her. SWAT officer/landlord Lucius Ryder, also known as "Luscious" to the all-women tenants in his apartment building, wants Marci for the magic she can work with his newly acquired, badly abused dog. Marci has the gift of "reading" dogs, understanding what is troubling them and what makes them happy. Lucius wants Bethany strictly for himself and once he sets out to seduce her and prove to her how he feels, she is more confused than ever. Once you throw in the eclectic personalities of the women in the apartment building, Bethany's lack of self-esteem, Lucius's abundance of self-confidence and the dangers of his job, you have a well-rounded story with all of the feel-good qualities that Lori Foster is known for.***** IT'S ABOUT TIME by Erin McCarthy. Prosecuting Attorney Trish Jones has been stood up. Again. After waiting for an hour for her date, she makes her way to Ryan's Pub. There she runs into Caleb Vancouver who, with empty beer bottles covering the bar in front of him, appears to be successfully drowning his sorrows. It turns out that his ex-wife is getting married the next day and he's trying not to think about it. Trish eventually gets him sobered up and they enjoy the rest of the evening in pleasant conversation. After last call Trish drives Caleb home, to her home, and they spend an incredible night together, followed by an incredible morning. When Caleb hears Trish make a flip comment about their relationship to her friends, he doesn't understand why his feelings are hurt when he has only known her a scant number of hours. But he's determined to turn those hurt feelings around and convince Trish that there is something unique between them that is worth pursuing. It promises to be fun, especially when Erin McCarthy is the one getting them together.***** WISH YOU WERE HERE by Amy Garvey. Photographer Mackenzie Pruitt is excited to begin renovations to the beach house she has inherited from her deceased aunt. Her top priority is getting the ramshackle backyard shed spruced up to use as a cozy little photo studio. When carpenter Leo Dawson shows up to do the work, Mackenzie is certain that he is the most gorgeous man she has ever seen. These two are steam-worthy from the word go and begin a red-hot relationship almost immediately, but Leo is hiding a secret and there's no way they can have a future together until he is willing to share his past with Mackenzie. Amy Garvey's contribution to this anthology is a wonderfully romantic story that practically sizzles on the pages.***** This book should be required summer reading whether you toss it in your suitcase, read it in the car, or tuck it in your beach bag, you'll be glad you did! ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
I read Northern Lights by Nora Roberts over the summer.Having really enjoyed it, I borrowed this book from my will be mother in law after spotting it on one of her shelves and was pretty disappointed with it.There is very little story in the 600 pages of this book and what is there isn't worth making it all the way to the end for.Roberts is a strong writer, and it's sad to see her talent wasted on a plot (if you can even go so far as to call it that) as this one.I plan to stick to Robert's non-romance novels in the future.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good but,
it was a little repetitve. Each of the three stories were somewhat similar. I did read this book within a weekend and it was pretty good. It was an enjoyable book and along with the stories about each sister meeting there man, there is a Calhoun family mystery that keeps the book interesting. Just wish the circumstances in which the sisters fell in love were unique to each. It was just to predictable!

5-0 out of 5 stars Courting Catherine - the best
I loved this book but the first part - Courting Catherine was one of the dearest love stories I've ever read.Roberts spins a wonderful tale full of beautiful and believable surroundings. Her unlikely pairing of a big time business exec with a small town girl auto mechanic is funny and sexy and has a beautiful ending. Pure romance - five stars! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun and light
The book had a nice pace, and really fun to read when you come home after stressfull day. Loved the characters, and how all three stories entwine. Ms. Foster did a great job.

3-0 out of 5 stars Starts with a bang, ends with a whimper...
I must admit, I'm a sucker for trilogies.... it's always nice to see continuity with characters and for them to be further developed than in just one story.Although "Little Miss Innocent?" is really good, by the time you get to "Messing Around with Max" you're left wondering why your wasting your time.

4-0 out of 5 stars Cute stories
The characterizations overlapped a little, but the stories were cute and ended happily. It was a nice rainy day read. ... Read more

When I first picked up this book I thought, hmmm... this could be really good, or this could be one of those... yeeesh, wish I hadn't bothered books. I am glad to say,I have been very pleased with this book!Kenyon was with name that pulled me in, but I was glad for the introduction to the other authors. I will be looking for more books by the others as well, from now on. Definitely worth your time and money. Kind hearted romances with just enough thrill and tension to keep you turning the pages. 5-0 out of 5 stars A book to read and re'read
Two stories in this book are reissues and the third is new. And I couldn't be happier about having them all under one cover. It was such fun to go back and read Dane and Alec's stories and I was thrilled to meet Harris in "Uncovered". He's a firefighter and every bit as HOT as you might imagine!
