5-0 out of 5 stars A lot better than the first
This is the second book in the circle trilogy.Like the first book, Morrigan's Cross, it starts off slow and if I could deduct 1/2 a point for that I would. But it makes up for it as it goes on.This is Larkin (a shape shifter) and Blair's (a vampire slayer)story. They are two of the six selected by Morrigan to form a circle and destroy a Vampire Queen Lilith, before she destroys the world.Besides the budding romance between Larkin and Blair this book has the 6 going back to the land of Geall to prepare for the fight that has to take place on Samhain. There are some minor battles fought and more character development in this one.It really makes you anxious to read the final installment, Cian and Moiras story. Nora blends fantasy and reality nicely.A fun story.

2-0 out of 5 stars A little closer attention to detail please...
After reading fantasy and sci-fi for the last 30 years, I consider myself rather well-read in the genre.Lately, as my taste has expanded to include urban fantasy, I have found quite a few authors who can make an alternate reality real.Alas, Book 2 of Nora Roberts doesn't make the cut.As a romance writer, NR probably creates reasonable story lines that actually make some sense.Dance of the Gods asks for total suspense of disbelief and then a willingness to exploit a genre for the sake of making some money.
5-0 out of 5 stars What a fun book!
I'm having such fun with this trilogy!I like it much better than her previous ones that have involved aspects of fantasy such as the In the Garden or Key trilogies. These characters have me hooked and I can't wait to see what happens next!Larkin is so darned cute and him and Blair together just made me laugh out loud several times throughout this book. She almost reminded me of Eve Dallas with her kick-butt attitude and long leather coat.Nora has done such a great job balancing out the darkness in this trilogy with love, hope and light and it makes this book truly a joy to read.I am counting the days until Valley of Silence comes out and I can read Cian and Moira's story. He's become my favorite character and a book focused on him should make for some intense reading indeed. This whole trilogy is definitely worth reading! Have I gushed enough yet? ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Not Typical Nora
I love Nora Roberts and have read most of her books...usually when a new one is released I rush right out to buy it.I have to say I was very disapointed in Morrigan's Cross.I had a difficult time getting into this book and it took me forever to read it...usually I get so hooked by her books, I can't put them down.I hope the second one in this series is not as disappointing!

1-0 out of 5 stars Not her best...
I did not like this book.I couldn't even finish it and it was so disappointing because I always love Nora Roberts books.I hope after this trilogy she doesn't write anymore books like this, needless to say I won't be buying the other two books in the series.

5-0 out of 5 stars Captivating!!
Similar to other readers, I had contemplated not reading this trilogy thinking it would have a silly story-line, but I was wrong.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of my favorites
"Angels Fall" is one of my all-time favorite books by Nora Roberts. The characters are believable, the plot is full of suspense, and the setting is breathtaking. Once again, Nora Roberts does not disappoint when it comes to describing the lush mountain scenery.
4-0 out of 5 stars She's the Master
Even though this is the first Nora Roberts' book I've reviewed, I'm a huge fan and have read almost all of her books. The only reason I didn't give this book five stars is because it's not as in depth as her other books - such as Northern Lights - one of my all time favorites.Don't get me wrong, Angels Fall wasn't lacking in any regard. I thoroughly enjoyed the characterization - impeccable as usual - Reece and Brody read like real people. The plot was intriguing and even though I wasn't too surprised when the "bad guy" was revealed, it didn't at all detract from a very enjoyable read.Nora Roberts seems to write effortlessly while sucking you into the story, making you feel as if you're watching it all unravel on the big screen.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Read
The book was riveting in such that I couldn't put the book down even while working. The finding out what Reece was hiding and becoming a strong person because she wanted to live her life was excellent. The trust she had for Brody made the romance that was coming so believable.Excellent story. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Weak and disappointing..
I never miss an Evanovich book. She is the only author I actually buy in harcover.I want my money back !!!This is a pale shadow of her usual writing.Maybe her publisher was pressuring her for a book so she tossed this one off.I don't know but I do know I was very disappointed.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Read!
This book is really funny and a quick read. This would be a good book to take on vacation or lounge by the pool because it is light and funny.I like all of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum books and also Metro Girl, so I felt this book was comparable to those. If you want a laugh, this book is for you!

5-0 out of 5 stars Another great book by Evanovich!
I LOVED Motor Mouth! It was such a fun read and I greatly enjoyed the characters.Being a NASCAR fan, I love the theme of these books even more.I greatly enjoyed Metro Girl, but have to say that I loved this one even more!I can't wait for the next Evanovich to come out!!I look forward to each of her releases and have yet to be disappointed!I highly recommend this one for a fun read full of laughs! ... 3-0 out of 5 stars I expected more detectiving
This is another book recommended by a co-worker, who warned me it might not be what I typically read. I really liked the suspense and trying to figure out who the killer was; and I enjoyed the descriptive writing. I dropped two stars for what seemed like exploitive sex and 'creepiness'. I also had a problem with the portrayal of the SAC and some sterotypes that seemed to be placed on him in excess. And finally a few technical errors were disappointing. I would have preferred that some of the pages spent in the bedroom would have been spent describing the clues found or the thought process in arriving at various conclusions. All in all, glad I read it, but it's not a must-read to me.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Book
First Book I've read from Sandra Brown and it was really great. It was a page turner from beginning to end. I found the book interesting and easy reading. A well written mystery suspense that keeps you guessing until the very end. Will not be the last Sandra Brown novel for me.

5-0 out of 5 stars A real page turner!

5-0 out of 5 stars The best WEDDING ever
The WEDDING is such a good book, it's a great story that you just get carried away with. I will admit that at first I didn't want to read it because of the title, I thought it was going to be some sad love story, but I was taken by surprise. It is a love story, but a very twisted love story. The way the husband and the wife talk to each other and how they react to one another's words is pretty funny. It really was hard to put that book down. I read over 200 pages in one night because it just grabs you and you just don't want it to end. I highly recommend this book to anyone, trust me, you won't be dissapointed.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun and Funny with some drama thrown in for good measure!
Yes, both Connor and Brenna are flawed. But who isn't?Personaly I HATE too perfect characters, they grate on my nerves and are not compeling.
4-0 out of 5 stars A Different Kind of Highlander Romance -Sequel to The Bride
4 and 1/2 stars. Do not read this book if this is your first Garwood and if you haven't read The Bride, because you won't like it. I absolutely loved The Bride, but this isn't it. The Wedding is a tale about Conner, a Laird, who abducts Brenna, an englishwoman, and marries her, just to enact revenge against a sworn enemy, which he believes had a part in the death of his father. What a way to start a marriage!

5-0 out of 5 stars Fool Me Once by Fern Michaels
"Fool Me Once," is a fun-loving yet anxious and suspenseful novel. In the story, Olivia Lowell slowly unveils the real truth of how her mother and her three friends robbed a bank without being caught. Olivia's mother left her this fortune; along with the fortune Olivia found herself hating her mother for abandoning her all those years ago.Olivia's hatred grows deeper throughout the novel until her lawyer finally makes her realize that she just needs to let go of it and move on with own life. Fern Michaels does an excellent job in showing how much havoc Olivia's mother had created for Olivia. Despite all the chaos that was brought about in Olivia's life, she was able to get through it all and be at peace with herself. Olivia's biggest problem in the novel was her internal conflict of always wanting and trying her best to do what is right. Fern Michaels portrays how Olivia was able to overcome her troubled life through companionship; her father being her biggest supporter along with the fellowship of her Yorkies. The author effectively ties in some romance into Olivia's life, and she ends up falling deeply in love with her lawyer. Fern Michaels creates such excitement in the novel that as a reader it is hard to put the book down. The author shows that no matter how much chaos that occurred in Olivia's life, she was ultimately able to rise above it all with her companions by her side. The author does a good job of keeping the reader captivated without confusing him/her throughout all the suspense.
5-0 out of 5 stars Happily Ever After
Imagine how you would feel believing your mother died at childbirth and then having an attorney drop off a letter from yourrecently deceased mother. Olivia Lowell is faced with that after 34 years of living a good life with her father Dennis.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent
The first 70 pages of this book were riveting - I simply couldn't put it down. After this, as the story began to unfold and lead into other characters, I felt it lost much of it's original intensity which was a shame because those first 70 pages were compelling. Without going into a detailed explanation of the story, which so many reviewers have done before me, I'll keep my comments brief and to the point.Although I enjoyed Gillian, I found her independence was so over the top that somewhere along the line the sense of her as an emotinally based woman was lost. She was independent to a fault. The relationship with Alex in the beginning of the book wasexceptional and literally came alive on the pages, and I would have liked to have seen it explored further along in the story. It was a shame it simply disappeared once Alex was home, it was far too good. I would like to see a sequel with Alex as a grown man - he was a charmer.
3-0 out of 5 stars This book was okay
This was my second Julie Garwood book, my first being Honor's Splendour-which I definitely reccommend! This book wasn't as good as HS. For one, the hero and the heroine don't even meet till page 125. I like my romances to start off at the beginning even though this is a long book, it doesn't make up for it! Also, Brodick doesn't change at all, he always remains the domineering egotistical one who always gets what he wants. He does want gillian to be happy though, even though if she does get her own way , the reader knows that he would be miserable. I also wish that Gillian and Brodick had more time to talk and had more witty banter with eachother, but Gillian is off making friends with Bridgid and Brodick is busy doing something or other. I thought it was sweet that Brodick liked Gillian because she was a strong woman and that she could stand up to him and so forth, *SPOILER* but I felt like he was taking advantage of her by marrying her when she didn't even know it, what is up with that! What happened to that little boy Alec anyway? I guess Gillian didn't care about him at all once he returned to his parents, maybe he was just a way for Brodick and Gillian to meet. I also don't understand how when they only knew eachother for such a short time, they were already going to get married. There are also good points to the book though, Gillian and Brodick do have some witty banter and they do have good sexual tension. Brodick does do some stupid things though later on, which are annoying, he even admits to using her later on, but he says that is only because he wanted to protect her. The book is fluffy is a way, but there is a story line about a jewled chest that gillian needs to find to save her uncle. I guess this book didn't appeal to me that much because the hero was not tender and gentle and romantic with the heroine and that is what I like.

5-0 out of 5 stars A nice bit of fluff for a Sunday afternoon
If you like romance novels, especially those set in the Highlands this is a very good book.It might do for a Diana Gabaldon/Outlander fix, but in no way would I consider these two books or authors as equals. While it is a fun and funny tale to read, I would not consider it well researched or historically acturate.Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but:

5-0 out of 5 stars Fabulously surprised!
I've read all of Lindas' books, this is different to the others, but still GREAT! Full of humor, sexy scenes, mystery, what more could you ask for?

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money on this book unless you like first person writing!
When I got this book I was very disappointed. She wrote in first person. I thought it would be like her other books.I just couldn't get into the book. What happen Linda Howard changing your style at this late date??Amazing, that the author would change her writing style to first person when all of her other books is third person. She has another book coming out Drop Dead Gorgeous a sequel to To Die For. I've been reading Linda Howard'sbooks for years. I have most all of her books. I won't be buying anymore of her books until I read the comments from the viewer. Her best book (After the Night). It should have been a Sequel. The Best Characters and likeable.

5-0 out of 5 stars I loved it!
This has got to be one of my favorite all-time romance novels. I actually like the first person point-of-view.It was a nice change.I LOVE Blair - she is a pistol!I wish that I could find a Wyatt out there for myself.Their man vs. woman struggle for one-upmanship in their relationship is hilarious!I love that Blair is strong enough to not fall at his feet and give up all her individuality.I don't care for sappy, stupid, wimpy female characters, and Blair is definitely not that!I, personally, wish I could find MORE romance novels as smart and as witty as this one.And it is great to find characters that are fully realized and leap off the page like these. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars damaged goods
I received this item and was joyfully listening to it when I came to tape two of Heart of the Sea- it is all jumbled up- twisted and totally un fixable- I've tried to contact Amazon about this but all I get is the runaround on their AWFUL "return system" on their website. This is a warning to any others who order from Amazon- check your order CAREFULLY. Now I'm stuck with this defective tape and Amazon WON'T LET ME CONTACT THEM!!!!!!!!!!!I haven't given up yet. There's got to be a way to return defective merchandise without being sent to one dead end after another. Sincerely wmclement@yahoo.com ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars The worst book of the series
I did not enjoy this book as much as the others in the series. There was tooooooooooo much of the two reporters, their romance, their following the women in the sisterhoold, etc. they were annoying and not essential to the book and I hope they are not in the next book.I much preferred Mark from the previous book.
4-0 out of 5 stars Sisterhood VENDETTA
In Washington DC architectural circles, engaged Isabelle Flanders and Bobby Harcourt are the rising power couple as both are talented and successful. However, everything changes when Isabelle's assistant Rosemary testified in court that her boss ran a stop sign that killed a family who had the right of way.Stunned by the betrayal as Rosemary was the driver, Isabelle takes a second wicked blow when her employee steals her designs claiming them as hers.Strike three occurs when she loses her architectural license and strike four happens when Bobby dumps her and marries Rosemary.
2-0 out of 5 stars Not the best in the series
I love the Sisterhood series, up until this point. Sweet Revenge was defintely not a favorite. I wouldn't have bought it had I known it wasn't as good as the last four. Honestly, the first book seems to be the best. It seems like Fern Michaels has lost interest in her Sisterhood sisters.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent way to start this series
This set is the 1st three books in an Excellent Series. If you like books in a series that follows one character, this is a must have. These stories are actually two parallel stories. They will tug on your heartstrings with the lessons learned in love and friendship, as well as the struggle to to discover oneself and appeal to your sense of thrill seeking and the search for justice.Eve Dallas, a hard nose New York City Homicide Detective, breaks down the case, layer by layer as she stands for her victims. These books are set in the year 2058, a future that is so tangible you can see and feel the rightness of how it's portrayed. Beatifully written and in such depth that you watch Eve Develop into a better person as she solves each case and stands for the victims that no longer have any means of standing for themselves. Her sense of right and wrong is so true to real life, flaws and all. Her struggles to maintain the line without crossing over it, all the while fighting the memories of a past that has haunted her since she was found in an alley in Dallas, TX, a child, broken and suffering from amnesia.

    5-0 out of 5 stars A Real Feel-Gooder
Debbie Macomber writes some lovely stories and this is one of them. The characters are thoughtfully created and experiencing realistic life crises.Belonging to two different support groups myself, I feel this story is very true-to-life in how friendships grow out of mutual interests, and friendships turn into support systems when you're in trouble.I liked every character and story-line in this book. Also, if you're a person who likes to knit or crochet, you will love this book, too! ...
