5-0 out of 5 stars A lot better than the first
This is the second book in the circle trilogy.Like the first book, Morrigan's Cross, it starts off slow and if I could deduct 1/2 a point for that I would. But it makes up for it as it goes on.This is Larkin (a shape shifter) and Blair's (a vampire slayer)story. They are two of the six selected by Morrigan to form a circle and destroy a Vampire Queen Lilith, before she destroys the world.Besides the budding romance between Larkin and Blair this book has the 6 going back to the land of Geall to prepare for the fight that has to take place on Samhain. There are some minor battles fought and more character development in this one.It really makes you anxious to read the final installment, Cian and Moiras story. Nora blends fantasy and reality nicely.A fun story.

2-0 out of 5 stars A little closer attention to detail please...
After reading fantasy and sci-fi for the last 30 years, I consider myself rather well-read in the genre.Lately, as my taste has expanded to include urban fantasy, I have found quite a few authors who can make an alternate reality real.Alas, Book 2 of Nora Roberts doesn't make the cut.As a romance writer, NR probably creates reasonable story lines that actually make some sense.Dance of the Gods asks for total suspense of disbelief and then a willingness to exploit a genre for the sake of making some money.
5-0 out of 5 stars What a fun book!
I'm having such fun with this trilogy!I like it much better than her previous ones that have involved aspects of fantasy such as the In the Garden or Key trilogies. These characters have me hooked and I can't wait to see what happens next!Larkin is so darned cute and him and Blair together just made me laugh out loud several times throughout this book. She almost reminded me of Eve Dallas with her kick-butt attitude and long leather coat.Nora has done such a great job balancing out the darkness in this trilogy with love, hope and light and it makes this book truly a joy to read.I am counting the days until Valley of Silence comes out and I can read Cian and Moira's story. He's become my favorite character and a book focused on him should make for some intense reading indeed. This whole trilogy is definitely worth reading! Have I gushed enough yet? ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Not Typical Nora
I love Nora Roberts and have read most of her books...usually when a new one is released I rush right out to buy it.I have to say I was very disapointed in Morrigan's Cross.I had a difficult time getting into this book and it took me forever to read it...usually I get so hooked by her books, I can't put them down.I hope the second one in this series is not as disappointing!

1-0 out of 5 stars Not her best...
I did not like this book.I couldn't even finish it and it was so disappointing because I always love Nora Roberts books.I hope after this trilogy she doesn't write anymore books like this, needless to say I won't be buying the other two books in the series.

5-0 out of 5 stars Captivating!!
Similar to other readers, I had contemplated not reading this trilogy thinking it would have a silly story-line, but I was wrong.

5-0 out of 5 stars MASTER OF STORIES
Lark McClure, is Tristan's great granddaughter and has not been a Maja herselffor very long, and with all the recent attacks and many being new recruits that are killed It has been ordered that each new recruit be put with one of more experienced of the warriors. And Lark is team with Gawain one of the original Knights of the round table, and who also has the love em and leave them reputation. But After a recent attack from a very powerful sorcerer vampire from the dark grail where Lark almost died because she wasn't strong enough or experienced enough she knew that in principle this made sense but she wasn't to sure about being up close and personal with a vampire right now, especially one with the body a god would envy and did he have to look at her as if she was his next meal...oh wait she could be the vampires from authors court feed from the Maja blood totally OK except she's never let anyone do that yet. Oh this was not going to be easy....
5-0 out of 5 stars Angela Knight scores again
Angela Knight has become one of my favorite new authors. So many of my favorite authors have not come through lately, but she hasn't failed me yet. I really like this series. I can hardly wait for MASTER OF DRAGONS.
5-0 out of 5 stars AK's done it again!
Buy this book. Now. Subtle enough? Okay...I love this book. I've been hooked on AK's series since the beginning, but I honestly think Master of Swords is the best one yet. No one writes action or adventure or paranormal OR romance with the same skill and flair as Angela Knight. She can literally keep me on the edge of my seat with a fight scene, or sighing over her beautifully written love scenes. This was a fantastic story, and one I'm reading again already - and also one I'll definitely add to my keeper shelf, alongside every other book Angela's written. I definitely recommend Master of Swords. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A great book
If you read all the rest of the dark books this is a great book. It has a the books in one adding to them. Very hard to put down.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Carpathians are BACK!!
I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed this book.Ms. Feehan is incredible. She bought back every beloved character from the past and made their contribution to the story breathtaking.I even enjoyed Adrienne and Aidan's story. And, their book DArk Gold was the only miss Ms. Feehan ever had.Skylar and Dimitri's story is almost to delicious to wait for but, that Manolito.I cannot wait for Manolito and his heroinnes book.IT will be awesome. This book extended the series and bought me even closer into the Carpathian world.

5-0 out of 5 stars Thank you Christine!!
I own all the books in the carpathian series.I have waited months for this book & I was not disappointed!!I have always wondered what went on with the characters after their book was finished. Now I know... I love that this book was a reunion of all the characters.Christine Feehan brought back all of my favorite characters, brought in some humor, but this was still a Carpathian book, still a romance novel, but a little more family oriented.I loved that she explained more about the past of some of the characters, and opens it up for more books to come.I can't wait for the next book!!!! ... 1-0 out of 5 stars I want my money back
I didn't like one story in this book other than Kenyon's, and even that wasn't her best. The book was actually so bad that I resent the money I paid for it.And to add insult to injury, the other book I bought that was a compilation including Kenyon was only slightly better -- which is not saying much.Just a total waste of money.

2-0 out of 5 stars If Books were DVDs, these would be the extras...
I came to this book as a big fan of Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark-Hunter series, but I hadn't read any of the other authors.I usually love collections like this, because I can read a shorter story by authors I'm not familiar with and can decide if I want to try a full-length novel. But too often lately, authors are starting to use anthologies as nothing more than "backstory" for their own series (L.A. Banks even says as much in the author's note to her story here), and don't strive to entertain those who aren't already familiar with their work, which leaves a large portion of the readership feeling left out of the joke.
3-0 out of 5 stars Love at First Bite Tickles
Although all of the stories definitely delivered on the theme, I found I enjoyed "Ride the Night Wind" by L.A. Banks and "The Forgotten One" by Rhonda Thompson the most.

5-0 out of 5 stars Lover Awakened
This author writes very good.I found that it was refreshing and could not put it down.I had to buy all three books. If you like Christine Feehan you will love this author.I just wish she was putting more books out.I hope you enjoy it as much as my mother and I did.

5-0 out of 5 stars Don't Miss It!
I'm not going into the detail the others did with their reviews. I have to say that this is an excellent book! If you've read the others in this series, (1. Dark Lover and 2. Lover Eternal) then you don't want to miss this one. Buy it; you'll like it! I'm waiting (impatiently!)for Butch's story next....

5-0 out of 5 stars Not a Knockoff.
Just the other day I threw a new paranormal book in the garbage and loudly said, "I'm sick of knockoffs.Where are the original, fresh paranormal writers? All the new releases are imitations!"It just seems like yesterday that I discovered LK Hamilton, Charlaine Harris, Robin D. Owens and Christine Feehan.Since that time, we also have been lucky enough to be delighted by Kresley Cole, Kim Harrison and Marjorie Liu.The rest of the paranormals romances today are simply trying to copy a formula. These are books that authors were forced to write by their agents and publishing houses simply to fill the perceived paranormal romance void.Hey, agents/publishers - just because you force an author to write outside of their genre, doesn't mean it will be good story.Wise up!So there I sat in the depths of disgust, when I happened upon another Amazon reviewer, who stated how good J. R. Ward's books are.Okay.I bought all three and figured they would be good fillers for the next couple of weeks until Robb & Cole's November releases.Wrong!J. R. Ward's series is fabulous!I'm usually not a gusher, but this series is just absolutely the best - incredible. There is no point in going into a description of the series, because 87 other reviewers have done so, but I just had to tell everyone how great this series truly is.Remarkable.This series makes me want to go back and downgrade every 5 star review I ever handed out.Buy these books!!!You won't be disappointed. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars A little disappointing
This trilogy was a little disappointing.I can't imagine being an author, like Nora Roberts, and putting out best sellars all the time, still, she has set a certain standard.Which this time, I don't feel like she quite got there.Still an entertaining read, but not the best work for Nora Roberts.

1-0 out of 5 stars boring, poorly written
I am an avid reader of fantasy but I have to say this series is one of the worst I have ever read. In fact, I could not finish the second book-something that never happens to me. It is (frankly) poorly written. The main character is so angry, and so disliked by almost everyone, I found it very hard slogging.Does everyone in her world have to hate her on sight? Ugh. Not that interesting as a literary device. But I disliked her too after a short while.
5-0 out of 5 stars Just as awesome as the first!
This book starts just a few weeks after the first with a surprise for Yelena - her family. This book is full of twists and huge revalations about her past...and future. Mogkan may be dead, but his family and legacy are far from gone. But there is another that may prove to be even more of a threat to her and her love, Valik.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome!
I read many many many books a month.I read mostly fantasy. And while I enjoy the books I read, I can put them down. Both books by this author kept me up late at night, unable to put the book down. This is a rarity for me.I started this book last night at 9:30, intending to read only a few pages before going to bed.2 hours and 250 pages later, I stopped, but only because my eyes were so tired that I couldn't read anymore.I finished the book during my lunch hour.I couldn't wait til I got home after work.I just love her world and the characters! And will be anxiously awaiting Fire Study.

5-0 out of 5 stars An outstanding sequel
I love the way Shana Abe uses her imagination and how well she captures it on paper. She takes romance and fantasy and seamlessly blends the two. This book stands alone on it's own, but as a sequel it's fantastic.
5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Sequel to SMOKE THIEF
Zane, the young thief, from SMOKE THIEF has grown into a formidable man. He is the head of a very unique and prosperous gang of thieves. The draken of Darkfirth have used his abilities and underlings many times. Zane is the only human to know the truth about the draken, he is the only human they trust. Now is the time to recover the lost Draumr, a diamond that can control the draken. None of the draken are able to stand it's presence and none have been able to find it. It is more of a legend than a truth. But now it's song is heard by most of the draken and someone must be sent to find the diamond. Zane is promised 60,000 gold pieces to retrieve the diamond and return it to the draken. Unfortunately, he will find something he desires more than money. And Draumr may be the only way to gain it. Zane is not told of the powers of the diamond, nor is he told of the danger it holds for the draken.
5-0 out of 5 stars A superb late eighteenth century romantic fantasy
In Darkfirth, England Lady Amalia "Lia" Langford can "hear" the future in her dreams. In 1768 she began dreaming of the human Zane bringing the dreaded Draumr gem to her clan.Draumr is the only known item that can enslave Lia's people who are the shapeshifting Drakon, who live in the most remote mountainside of Northern England.

3-0 out of 5 stars Black Rose
In her first book of the trilogy, Blue Dahlia, Roberts shows us how passionate she is about gardening.I genuinely enjoyed the way she used gardening metaphors to define her characters' philosophical views.I had high hopes for the second book, Black Rose, since the main characters are using genealogical research--one of my passions--to discover the mysterious past of a ghost who plays havoc in Harper House.Sadly, I was disappointed with this book.More than anything, the story and characters just seemed rather lifeless and even the ghost seemed a melodramatic device.
4-0 out of 5 stars Well- rounded ending
I was hooked on this trilogy after reading the first of the series.I found the second book a bit forced, but really enjoyed the third and final installment.I hate to say goodbye to these characters and their enchanting home of Harper House.I was glad to learn the final resting place of Amelia and really enjoyed the ghost/haunting aspect of this romantic series.

4-0 out of 5 stars The In The Garden Trilogy
Nora's "In The Garden" Trilogy was great, but I must say not her best. Her characters are so life-like and you actually feel like you're part of the story. She's a phenomenal author and I have not come across anything of hers that I have not thoroughly enjoyed.

3-0 out of 5 stars A little to much
This book has everything I look for in a read. It has a good plot, hunky hero, gorgeous heroine, witchcraft, warriors, and the fae.Along with that are alot of erotic encounters. However, it also has a word I find offensive. There is an act I find offensive too. I did not see the necessity for the word or the act. IF you are not offended by certain words or acts you will love this book. I didn't and so I will probably not buy any more by this author.
5-0 out of 5 stars WOW!An author worth watching....
A practicing white witch, Copper Ashcroft was casting a circle when her magic clashed with a Darkwolf, a warlock.Flung into Otherworld, Copper is trapped with several very unhappy magical creatures.Only knowing that she is direly needed back home in San Francisco, Copper can only try to break the shield that is surrounding the meadow that has become her prison. While chanting a spell, Copper accidentally brings a Tuatha D'Danann warrior into her prison with her.
4-0 out of 5 stars Charmed, with more heat...
I like the 2nd book in the D'Anu Series better than the 1st primarily because Copper and Tiernan's characters are more likable and not as stiff as Hawk and Silver. Tiernan's definitely yummier than Hawk. This book really reads like an episode of the TV series Charmed because it is fast-paced, ever-changing and definitely cute. The only difference is that the book is more blatantly sexual than the TV episodes, definitely not for the faint of heart.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good Enough
Teresa Medeiros is a wonderful writer, so even at her "not so great" she writes a good story. This tale wasn't as entertaining as After Midnight, but it was nice to see the characters of her first book play a role in this sequel.Julian's character was still rakish and desirable, and Portia was still sweet and driven. The love affair was semi-believable, but it lacked a depth that Ms. Medeiros often puts into her romances. The Vampire Who Loved Me is a light and easy read and enjoyable enough to pass a few hours with.

3-0 out of 5 stars Dull!
A predictable story. A good book to read if you have no other vampire novels at hand.

3-0 out of 5 stars Disapointing follow-up to After Midnight
The Vampire that Loved Me is the sequel to After Midnight. It covers the story of Julian and Portia and takes place about 5 years after the events in After Midnight.Considering that it was 13 months between the release of AM and VLM, I guess I was expecting something a little more. While it is written well, the plot and characters just are not that engaging.Normally, I say more about the plot and characters in reviews (esp. a bit more than what the back cover says), but this book is so shallow that I think if I do, it will be nothing more than an spoiler for those that might read it.It is riddled with high and low points, mostly low.Medeiros seems to be attempting a gothic romance. If I were to sum this book up in one word, it would be "sappy" or maybe "cheesy".Where the first one was likable, there isn't much to redeem this one other than to say it doesn't take long to read. It's definitely a popcorn book.I kept the first one and now have to decide if I keep this one because I kept the first. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Devoured in a single read
OK, I'll admit the vampires have names that are straight out of a romance novel, pun intended. But once you get past that, you'll find that this is an outstanding series. I loved Rhage, and even the parts of his relationship with Mary that were a bit predictable were enjoyable because the writing is so good (the first time he sees her naked, I actually teared up).
5-0 out of 5 stars This book is so good
Everyone is raving about these books and the praise is well worth it.This writer is excellent, the book is smokin' and she (JR Ward) deserves all the success in the world, can't wait for the next book!

5-0 out of 5 stars Guilty, Giddy Pleasure Indeed
I have to give a nod to this one, my best friend Kate reccommended it, and it did not disappoint. Reccommended, but not required: Have lots of good quality chocolate on hand for this one and, well why not have some more chocolate and brew up some hot cocoa (Nestle with double marshmallows if you're thrifty, Godiva for a splurge. Skip those silly ballet flats that'll kill your feet and buy that good chocloate at the shop next door!) while you're indulging your sweet tooth on this decadent read!

4-0 out of 5 stars a fabulous start to the series
In the prequel to the Dark Hunter series, Kenyon introduces us to a few of the players who will become regulars as well as giving us a small peek into the whims of the gods.

5-0 out of 5 stars Exceeded my hopes and expectations!
After reading the first tale in this series in the anthology 'Playing Easy to Get', I greatly looked forward to reading this story and I was not disappointed.
5-0 out of 5 stars All I can say is "YUMMY, YUMMY, YUMMY"!
Lachlain should be cloned! This book is definitely a page turner...I had finals to study for and I couldn't put it down! Yes, I was that addicted!!! Lach is a little angry and tends towards the whole He-Man thing but other than that, he's romantic to the core. I suppose if you're overly feminist, you might have a problem with this book but I certainly didn't!
5-0 out of 5 stars Great New Paranormal
I bought the antholgy Playing Easy To Get for Kenyon's story, was pleasing surprised by Cole. Couldn't wait for A Hunger like No Other. The book was wonderfull.I can't under stand why a previous reviewer cringed at the dialog. Must not have read any period historicals. Cole obviously did not have the same freedom for creativity for her historicals. ... Read more
