5-0 out of 5 stars Now that's what I'm talking about!
The only bad part about this book is it had to end! Red was conniving and dirty as they come in this scandalous tale of deceit and consequences. The narration really exemplified the story. It was almost like a good friend was giving you the scoop on what was going down. This wasn't your typical ghetto street saga either because the author has substance. She knows how to grab your attention and keep it. Based on the wild ending, I know a sequel will be hitting shelves in due time. Hopefully the wait won't be too long!^5.

3-0 out of 5 stars Can't put it down...
I sometimes read urban books since I can relate a lot, and this was a fast read! Red was pathetic...if she'd been a go getter with some scruples I'd have liked her better....

4-0 out of 5 stars So Dirty...So So Dirty
The title of this book definitly described who Red really is.I read this book in one day and was nowhere near being disappointed.Red did so many people "dirty" that there has to be a sequel to this, just to see what happens next.I don't want to sit here and give away any details, but I am sure that you will all agree with me that this book is (1) off the hook and (2) there needs to be a sequel.I mean it is only right!! ... 3-0 out of 5 stars This collaboration ain't the one
I am a Carl Weber fan, His part on the collaboration was great I have never read anything from Mary Morrison and at this point never will, the storyline had great potential but dang she was too graphic on the sexual parts it got to the point where I had to skip her graphic details in order to finish. 3 stars for Carl!

4-0 out of 5 stars Definitely kept my attention
This was my first E. Lynn Harris novel.I bought it because it was the only African American fiction at the airport I was in at the time.I completely finished the book over the course of my roundtrip flights, so it is definitely a page turner.Light, easy reading to take your mind off things.

3-0 out of 5 stars Actually 2 and 1/2 stars
I love E. Lynn Harris!I own every book he's written and have been to all his book signings. This book was boring and seemed really personal. This is the worst book he's written.I still love E. Lynn though!

5-0 out of 5 stars Better than My Woman His Wife
Anna, Anna, you do to us sister. This story gave you the ups and downs, and how people are just crazy. It was all good...if you ever wanted to try something on the edge..there just might be some consequences!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Just as good as the first one
I thought "My Woman His Wife" was great, but this one is just as great. Aftermath takes us a little deeper into the lives and backgrounds of the characters without losing the sensuality from the first one. I recommended the first book to my friend, who mentioned it to another, and so forth. We all are hooked on these books now, and can't wait for the next one. If you haven't read the first one, please go get it, and then check out Aftermath. You won't be sorry!!

5-0 out of 5 stars A MUST READ!!!!
I have to say Anna J. you did the d*** thing. I thought the first novel was good.WOW!The Aftermath did an excellent job in taking you deeper into the lives of the characters mentioned in My Woman His Wife.If you have not ready any of these books.....GO TO YOUR LOCAL BOOKSTORE NOW. I have been getting let down with the current Urban fiction that is on the market.Anna J. you have restored my faith in AA fiction and your work is evident that great writers are still out there.I cannot wait for your next novel.Keep up the excellent work!I know there will be more to come with these characters. I CANNOT wait.I would rate this novel more than 5 stars if there were more options. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars 3 and 1/2 stars
I actually thought the book was pretty decent. The end seemed to be a little unreal to me though.I'm glad the book didn't have a lot of "ghettoness" and "porno-via-book" sex scenes. That's not real talent to me.Omar Tyree is still a good storyteller.

3-0 out of 5 stars It was a'ight
I think readers are used to the raunchy novels that Omar has written in the past.Although the story was slow and very wordy, it did make for a good read.I don't recommend this book to those that want hot steamy sex and ghetto brawls. It was just ok.But not as bad as most are saying.

1-0 out of 5 stars Unrealistic Storyline
The author should have just written erotic fiction, because this is the entire plot of the book:how many women he could bed.The author expects us to believe that this whoremonger of a man could sleep his way through countless women, sometimes 5 women in 3 days, and, poof! just settle down upon reconnecting with the mother of his child.I'm really glad this is a work of fiction, because, Omar, this doesn't happen in real life.Once a dog, always a dog.He didn't even develop his character to the point that he was monogamous to one woman for any length of time before he decided the character would suddenly give up all the cha cha he was getting before settling down.Totally unrealistic. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars No More bad Girl??????????
I have read all of Ms Murray's novels. After a long wait a sequel to Temptation. At first I didn't like Jasmine as usual. Almost put A Sin and a Shame down but another book-club member was reading it also and convinced me to keep reading and I was really glad she did. What a great story about forgiveness and love. Nobody is perfect and most important people can and some do change.

3-0 out of 5 stars A Little Disappointed
Ok let me start off by saying Victoria is one of my favorite authors. My book club as well as I loved Joy, Truth Be Told, and of course Temptation.Seeing how I loved Temptation so much and I just knew this book was going to be good, it was ok.It was very predictable from beginning to end, and just really boring.Maybe I am just a real drama queen, but I was waiting on something more to happen. It was like ok now what when are we going to get to the good stuff.Don't get me wrong it had some drama in it, but it was all predictable.Maybe I will present it to my book club to see what they think.
4-0 out of 5 stars Jasmine is off the hook!
Ms. Murray has done it again with Jasmine.I thoroughly enjoyed this novel, but definitely recommend you read "Temptation" before reading this; so that you will get a very close-up view of how devious Jasmine is.Victoria Christoper-Murray is an excellent author of Christian-fiction novels and never disappoints.Jasmine will make you want to slap her one minute and then feel sorry for her in another.Pick up your copy today and you will enjoy! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Diary of a Mistress
Great Job, Miasha! Loved the book.Exciting and unpredictable.A great read and I hated for it to end. As for the wifey, Poor Monica. I just did not see the unpredictable coming.DANG! Never would have imagine! My only negative comment would be that the book was too short. But this definitely did not take away from the book. The facts, the point andBAM, DRAMA, DRAMA & more DRAMA! was all there. In my opinion, it takes a very well written book to be able to execute "the layout/the captured/the completion" with the utmost momentum of a page turner in just 170 short pages. Sistagirl, "You DID JUST THAT!!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Must Read
This book was nothing like I expect it to be.It was very interesting and taught a valuable lesson.I wish the book was a little longer, but other than that, it had me on the edge of my seat, wanting more.

5-0 out of 5 stars Black Dynasty
This is the sequel To P.G. County by Connie Briscoe.Great cast of characters are once again called upon to cast a web of betrail, lust and revenge. This time Millionaire Bradford Bentley has given up his wayward ways (or has he?) to be a devout husband to Barbara (or is it to late?). Now that Jolene has built her mini mansion will this satisfy her roming eye for the finer things in life? Pearl's been out of love for so long will she be able to keep Patrick's interest?Lastly,Why would royalty pick P.G. County to constuct a new home. This is just the tip of the ice berg for the drama and laughs you'll find in the pages of this book. This story line is good enough for a mini series! I Loved every minute of it.

3-0 out of 5 stars This book was not what I expected
"Can't get enough" was a pretty good book, however, it didn't really get me going like "PG County". Althoug this book had a good story line, I expect so much more. Connie Briscoe is a very good storyteller and I am one of her biggest fans, I expect this book to be explosive. I expected this book to really wow me.Since the author decided to write a continuation book based on PG County, this book should have be more drama filled. I expected the character Jolene to run into more severe life threatening problems, such as going to jail or even death. Since the author didn't kill any characters in the book makes me believe another series is in the works.
3-0 out of 5 stars I don't understand...
Ok so will there be continuation? This book was not what I expected. It was all about middle aged rich woman with no lives.all they did was parade around in designer clothes and drink champagne. What was the point. The ending was with Barbara Bentley who basically the book focused on.She was still confused as to whether she wanted her husband or the other man. Will we find out what actually happened or is the abrupt ending the way it will be? ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Good girl meets Bad boy
This is the story of a good girl, an intelligent woman who was born and raised in a small southern town where everybody knows everybody. She's the owner of her own business and successful. She meets the quintessential bad boy rock star. The sparks begin to fly. The male character Bryan is one of the sexiest characters that I've ever read about. The heroine, Callie I didn't relate to very well. For a strong supposedly independent 29 year old woman, she had to get permission from her father to date this guy.
4-0 out of 5 stars A star performance from first timer......
Ms. Holcomb's freshman romance novel was a breath of not only fresh air but fresh ideas. It claims to a creative mind that I hope keeps up the good work.
4-0 out of 5 stars First Class Choice
The book is about a book store owner who meets and falls in love with famous musician. The characters are well thought out and well developed. Without giving away the story, I would suggest purchasing the book. I loved it and can't wait for more books by Roslyn.

5-0 out of 5 stars Really a great read!!!!!
This was really one of the best books I have read in a long time. Being from southern Alabama myself the first sentance got me and the book never let go. I think i finished it in one day. i loved the characers, i loved the plot twist I loved EVERYTHING about this book!!!! i gave the book on take for my little sis to listen to as she drove back to school and she loved it as well.

4-0 out of 5 stars A Good Read
Gods In Alabama is a book whose pages are filled with characters that are highly reminiscent of people we've all known at some time in our life. These characters struggle with issues that face us during the many different stages of our life.As I read the book I was intrigued by the many facets of the relationships within the book; Arlene and Clarise, Clarise and Aunt Flo, Aunt Flo and Arlene, Arlene and Burr, etc.In many ways it makes you realize that all relationships are in some way flawed because we as individuals are flawed. In spite of the flaws, we live, we love, and we perserve because relationships are what give life meaning. In addition, the theme touches on the expectations placed upon us by society versus those which we place upon ourselves.--A worthwhile read.

5-0 out of 5 stars Southern Girl with a twist
My sister passed this book on to me after she read it.I began the book thinking it was about a Southern Girl (like myself) with lots of family issues. It turned into a mystery with twists and turns. It is a good read worth passing on. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Loved this one too!
Both books are very good and kept me laughing out loud.Don't sleep!Read Flip Side of the Game first. You won't be disappointed.

5-0 out of 5 stars Heart Felt and Emotional Rollercoaster
This book was a great continuation to Flip side of the Game. I also loved the fact that the cover reflected the title of both novels. This book was great and I wish to see the continuation of it in PartIII. Although it was hard to believe that the characters were in their 30's but never the less I was still entertained and I always hear that dumb b*tch alert with some of my friends. Vera had me rolling when she would say that about her girl friends. This was a good read.

5-0 out of 5 stars I've read this book a couple times
When i run out of new books to read I always end up going back to this one and reading it again. Vera was a drama queen.. but I understood where she was coming from when she would cuss her momma out because she just wanted her to get that monkey off her back.. I think the book was really good. I like how Taj was thuggin it but the nigga was a doctor.. It shows you don't always have to sell drugs to live good. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars ***NIGHT HEAT IS HOT!!!***
I wish I could go inside Ms. Jackson's psyche and watch her brain work. She writes such interesting material. The characters and the storylines of her books are fascinating and fun. The preview of this book states that Sebastian Steele is a corporate shark but he was more like a guppy to me and Jocelyn Mason worked my nerves BIG TIME. Leah and Reese were my favorites of the book, and it's such a refreshing change that pregnancy and/or marriage didn't happen for either couple just yet.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful
This is the second in a series "Forge of Steele" and the second novel I have read by Ms. Jackson.I was really taken aback with this one.I loved it!!!The story centers around Joclyn and Sabastian - two completely opposite people yet they feel sparks between them from their first meeting.Ms. Jackson has a wonderful way of moving you through story so gracefully that it does not appear to be a story at all.The story surrounding Leah and Reese was also wonderful. (I can see another story about them later)I can not say enough about how wonderful this story was.I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
5-0 out of 5 stars There is a reason why if it says Brenda Jackson I buy it
Night Heat was so hot, I couldn't really sleep until I found out how Bas captured his woman. When we met him in Solid Soul I knew that he wasn't going to stay with Cassandra. Thank you Brenda for bring a woman like Joceyln Mason in to his life. She was the perfect mix of fire and desire.

I just finished reading "Every Thug Needs a Lady" and thought it was very entertaining. In the beginning it was a little difficult reading because of the slang and unedited version. You are a jackass. No one "sold us to the US".We were STOLEN and taken back.Who is to say what changes there would have been if we had not been.Africa might be a better place today.3-0 out of 5 stars look
You speak of enslavement in the US--who sold you to the US???Never is THIS mentioned. In Africa today, people are dying in the thousands of AIDS.Could the African Americans of today not thank our forefathers for coming over and sacrificing for our legacy??What are you thinking??We have it made now,we are not in Africa with disease, pestilence, violence, and an anscetory that sold us to the US.Go ahead with your pitifullness--I am grateful that our own people sold us out.We are now successful, healthy, and for me--I am thankful to be here.Sometimes, things happen for a reason, no matter how bad things might be.Give thanks to your grand-parents, great grand parents and to the US for making your life so much better.Above all-----------THINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!AND don't lick wounds--they are long gone.

5-0 out of 5 stars A quartet of remarkable human testaments
The practice of enslavement in the Americas is a phenomenon of staggering proportions. It is also one of the most thoroughly documented systems of human rights abuse in history. "The Classic Slave Narratives" brings together four powerful testaments of individuals who survived enslavement in the Americas. The book also contains an insightful introduction by scholar Henry Louis Gates, Jr.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars ***beSteele my heart!!!***
It took 16 hrs. to read this great book. As I stated in my previous review, I wish I could pick Ms. Jackson's brain to see what makes her write such excellent material. The "parent trap" storyline was cute and funny. What can I say about Chance and Kylie...HOT-HOT-HOT.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome
I have been a fan of Mrs. Jackson's since 1994 when she first introduced her first family, The Madaris's and I have yet to be disppointed. She takes such time with her characters and developing their romances that is so endearing. She also puts such emphasis on things such as the holding of each other's gazes, or how they often stare into each other's eyes as if no one else is in the room that it makes my heart pound just reading it.And the love scenes . . .forget about it.
5-0 out of 5 stars The Steele's Are Here!
I absolutely loved this book! It introduces us to the Steele family - and what a family. The eldest brother Chance is the latest story. I thought the whole "Parent Trap" scenario was really funny. I LOL all the way through. The kids were too much! I highly recommend this book! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars By far this is best book by Keith Lee Johnson!
This story grabs you from page 1 and doesn't let go until the last page. The Honeymoon captures all the emotions involved with relationships, it takes you from the highs and lows that every relationship has. This book also has the suspense added to it that makes you unable to put it down.I found myself saying "one more page" and before I knew it I had read the book in less then 2 days!Nelson is a very believable character with very real and raw emotions. It was nice to see this man go through some of the mental anguish that most people go through when life takes a turn you weren't expecting. The choices he made are thoughts that all of us have at one time or another to some degree.I have read all of this author's books and I love how characters from prior books make their appearance in new books. This allows you to keep up with what has been going on with them. The Honeymoon is definitely his break out book and will make a fan of you! This book sets the foundation for a lasting career in the literary field!

5-0 out of 5 stars Edge of your Seat - Fun Ride!
The Honeymoon is Over is the story of Nelson Kennard, ambitious owner of Kennard Janitorial Services. He works continuously as he wants his company to have contracts in every major city in the United States, not just San Francisco. Nelson is a competitive yet impulsive man by nature. He was drafted out of college as the #1 NBA draft pick by Philadelphia, yet he never played one professional game due to a career ending injury caused by his own stupidity.
