5-0 out of 5 stars One of my favorites
"Angels Fall" is one of my all-time favorite books by Nora Roberts. The characters are believable, the plot is full of suspense, and the setting is breathtaking. Once again, Nora Roberts does not disappoint when it comes to describing the lush mountain scenery.
4-0 out of 5 stars She's the Master
Even though this is the first Nora Roberts' book I've reviewed, I'm a huge fan and have read almost all of her books. The only reason I didn't give this book five stars is because it's not as in depth as her other books - such as Northern Lights - one of my all time favorites.Don't get me wrong, Angels Fall wasn't lacking in any regard. I thoroughly enjoyed the characterization - impeccable as usual - Reece and Brody read like real people. The plot was intriguing and even though I wasn't too surprised when the "bad guy" was revealed, it didn't at all detract from a very enjoyable read.Nora Roberts seems to write effortlessly while sucking you into the story, making you feel as if you're watching it all unravel on the big screen.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Read
The book was riveting in such that I couldn't put the book down even while working. The finding out what Reece was hiding and becoming a strong person because she wanted to live her life was excellent. The trust she had for Brody made the romance that was coming so believable.Excellent story. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great read but leans to the dark side--be warned!
This author is one of my very favorite brand-name picks and her books are immediate purchases. This is one of her strongest--yet darkest--stories to date. The male and female leads are strong, passionate characters with great chemistry that starts from the get-go and just keeps sizzling.
5-0 out of 5 stars A hot suspense that's sure to please!
I am hopelessly addicted to Shannon McKenna's novels.I've read every one of her books, multiple times in fact, and Hot Night was no exception in quality.McKenna is a novelist that knows how to successfully intertwine both romance and suspense together to create a story that is hard to put down.

3-0 out of 5 stars I expected more detectiving
This is another book recommended by a co-worker, who warned me it might not be what I typically read. I really liked the suspense and trying to figure out who the killer was; and I enjoyed the descriptive writing. I dropped two stars for what seemed like exploitive sex and 'creepiness'. I also had a problem with the portrayal of the SAC and some sterotypes that seemed to be placed on him in excess. And finally a few technical errors were disappointing. I would have preferred that some of the pages spent in the bedroom would have been spent describing the clues found or the thought process in arriving at various conclusions. All in all, glad I read it, but it's not a must-read to me.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Book
First Book I've read from Sandra Brown and it was really great. It was a page turner from beginning to end. I found the book interesting and easy reading. A well written mystery suspense that keeps you guessing until the very end. Will not be the last Sandra Brown novel for me.

5-0 out of 5 stars A real page turner!

4-0 out of 5 stars Well Done!
I linked all of the main characters a lot and enjoyed the plot.Although she tends to beat you over the head with it, I really like how Brockmann writes strong and relatively non-cliched non-white characters!Lindsay - a 100lb Asian who can more than handle herself - is wonderful, but the scene in the bar just drags on too long to be believable.Overall though, very well done. And certainly better done all the other romance novelists that - when they do have people of color in their stories - keep them peripheral, like literally in the kitchen, or using what the author thinks is typical "urban" language.

1-0 out of 5 stars Too Psycho
SB's books hadn't thus far dwelt in the mind of the bad character. This one does--far too much for my taste.I tried skimming the parts about the killer as did another reviewer, but after a nightmare, I gave up.It was too gruesome, kind of like Ann Rule's books.
5-0 out of 5 stars SHE ROCKS AGAIN!!!!
Once again Ms Brockmann has a winner. This is one of the best books I have read. This book made me laugh out loud and at the same time I was finishing reading one page as I was turning it to find out what was going to happen on the next page. She really is in to the mind set of that human we call a male. Can't wait for Izzy's story!!! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars An oldie, but a goodie
Don't be deluded by the publishing date. This is NOT a new story. If you're an IN DEATH fan, this does not pick up where the most recent book left off. This was originally published as a short story in a book of short stories named OUT OF THIS WORLD in August of 2001. But, if you're a fan it won't matter. Nothing earth shaking happens in it, so this story could be "anytime" in the later half of the series.

2-0 out of 5 stars Should have read the details. . . .
The reviews posted on the site are longer than the book. It is less than 100 pages long and about 1/4" thick. I know it is a "value" book but it's a tiny, quick read that would be more suitable to a Good Housekeeping magazine (granted not PG rated!) than a book.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Faces of Murder Are Varied and Complex
The above quotation, which J.D. Robb utilizes to introduce this novella, effectively captures the essence of the murders which form the basis of this story. INTERLUDE IN DEATH was originally released in an anthology titled OUT OF THIS WORLD, a collection of futuristic stories by four well known women authors. It can be understood as a standalone story, but its brevity does not allow the amount of character development or background information that is available in the full length novels. Thus, my rating reflects those factors and I believe will be shared by listeners familiar with the series' main characters, who undoubtedly will find this more enjoyable than those unfamiliar with the ... IN DEATH series. This story takes place during the spring of 2059, it was published chronologically after BETRAYAL IN DEATH, the twelfth full-length novel in the series.

3-0 out of 5 stars This collaboration ain't the one
I am a Carl Weber fan, His part on the collaboration was great I have never read anything from Mary Morrison and at this point never will, the storyline had great potential but dang she was too graphic on the sexual parts it got to the point where I had to skip her graphic details in order to finish. 3 stars for Carl!

3-0 out of 5 stars A little to much
This book has everything I look for in a read. It has a good plot, hunky hero, gorgeous heroine, witchcraft, warriors, and the fae.Along with that are alot of erotic encounters. However, it also has a word I find offensive. There is an act I find offensive too. I did not see the necessity for the word or the act. IF you are not offended by certain words or acts you will love this book. I didn't and so I will probably not buy any more by this author.
5-0 out of 5 stars WOW!An author worth watching....
A practicing white witch, Copper Ashcroft was casting a circle when her magic clashed with a Darkwolf, a warlock.Flung into Otherworld, Copper is trapped with several very unhappy magical creatures.Only knowing that she is direly needed back home in San Francisco, Copper can only try to break the shield that is surrounding the meadow that has become her prison. While chanting a spell, Copper accidentally brings a Tuatha D'Danann warrior into her prison with her.
4-0 out of 5 stars Charmed, with more heat...
I like the 2nd book in the D'Anu Series better than the 1st primarily because Copper and Tiernan's characters are more likable and not as stiff as Hawk and Silver. Tiernan's definitely yummier than Hawk. This book really reads like an episode of the TV series Charmed because it is fast-paced, ever-changing and definitely cute. The only difference is that the book is more blatantly sexual than the TV episodes, definitely not for the faint of heart.

5-0 out of 5 stars Devoured in a single read
OK, I'll admit the vampires have names that are straight out of a romance novel, pun intended. But once you get past that, you'll find that this is an outstanding series. I loved Rhage, and even the parts of his relationship with Mary that were a bit predictable were enjoyable because the writing is so good (the first time he sees her naked, I actually teared up).
5-0 out of 5 stars This book is so good
Everyone is raving about these books and the praise is well worth it.This writer is excellent, the book is smokin' and she (JR Ward) deserves all the success in the world, can't wait for the next book!

2-0 out of 5 stars The worst book of the series
I did not enjoy this book as much as the others in the series. There was tooooooooooo much of the two reporters, their romance, their following the women in the sisterhoold, etc. they were annoying and not essential to the book and I hope they are not in the next book.I much preferred Mark from the previous book.
4-0 out of 5 stars Sisterhood VENDETTA
In Washington DC architectural circles, engaged Isabelle Flanders and Bobby Harcourt are the rising power couple as both are talented and successful. However, everything changes when Isabelle's assistant Rosemary testified in court that her boss ran a stop sign that killed a family who had the right of way.Stunned by the betrayal as Rosemary was the driver, Isabelle takes a second wicked blow when her employee steals her designs claiming them as hers.Strike three occurs when she loses her architectural license and strike four happens when Bobby dumps her and marries Rosemary.
2-0 out of 5 stars Not the best in the series
I love the Sisterhood series, up until this point. Sweet Revenge was defintely not a favorite. I wouldn't have bought it had I known it wasn't as good as the last four. Honestly, the first book seems to be the best. It seems like Fern Michaels has lost interest in her Sisterhood sisters.

4-0 out of 5 stars Coulda been worse...
There were things I really liked about Cover of Night. The characterization was sharp, the pacing was excellent, the motivations were logical, but somehow it failed to come together and engage me. It read like a book adaptation of a movie. I never invested in the emotional life of the characters, even as I respected their situation and the reactions they had to events. The major plot point required a massive suspension of disbelief. One thing I greatly appreciated was that the suspense was without horror elements. Too many romantic suspense books of late have relied heavily on graphic and almost sexual descriptions of violence, especially violence against children. Early in the book you learn the heroine has twin boys. Right away I'm bracing myself for yet another 'children in extreme peril' storyline. I should have trusted the author more. Worth a paperback purchase, certainly. As a hardcover I'd think twice.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good story
I don't understand all the negative reviews.I thought it was a very good suspence story.I liked Cal and Cate and would have enjoyed more of Creed and Neemah. All in all I enjoyed the story very much.

1-0 out of 5 stars Disappointing!!!!!!
I am a huge fan of Linda Howard's books. I have purchased each and every one of them. I live in Israel so getting her books in English from the U.S.A. isn't cheap Cover of Night was the most disappointing book of Linda Howard's I have ever read. It was boring and I foung myself turning the pages and looking for something interesting to read in that particular book. I hope the next one is more interesting. I will keep looking forward to her books since I have enjoyed and re-read many of the ones I have. ... Read more

JD's writing is always captivating. The relationship between the main characters is enticing and the story lines are leaving you with wanting her next book in the series.

5-0 out of 5 stars Seduction In Death
I loved this story, as is the case with all J.D. Robb In Death books. Susan Erikson is wonderful; the different voices she uses for each character is amazing.

5-0 out of 5 stars InsightTo Eve
Seduction takes off as most of the "In Death" books do with the story of Eve's dreaded past. However, this book in the series delves into Eve's more "human" nature with J. D. Robb demanding her main character conform to the care of her family and friends. We see a much more vulnerable and "soft" side of Eve (whether or not she initially likes it).The murder mystery moves in different directions from her previous books as well.We know who the bad guys are almost from the start but it is always interesting to explore the mindful ways of our favorite copand watch her think her way through to solving yet another homicide.I especially enjoyed the manner in which Robb enhanced the development of the secondary character-relationships of Peabody and McNab (becoming exclusive!) and Charles and Louise. The "In Death" characters are like family after you have gotten this far in the series and you'll be hooked and loving each and every one of them, right down to Commander Whitney as you follow the life and times of Eve Dallas, Roarke, Feeney, Mavis, Peabody, McNab and company. ... WARNING: Explicit content! Lots of sex. But it fits in with the story, I guess.
5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Paranormal Romance
It seems that those reviewers who were disappointed in this book all had a similar problem--they were expecting vampire horror and not paranormal romance. There's a lot of sex, but also a lot of action/adventure.
3-0 out of 5 stars An Okay Read
I was very excited to read this book because of the positive reviews.I must say, I wasn't disppointed, but I wasn't very impressed.I think it was the plot concept that made this book a little dry for me.I think between "Magverse" and the fairies, Merlin, vampires, demons, witches, the round table, alien references, and humans, I found it to be just a little too much going on.But the author did a great job trying to make it work, it just fell kind of flat for me....at times I found the the book moving a little slow. There were some nice light hearted scenes in the book that got a chuckle out of me which I was hoping would continue throughout the book, but it didn't. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Sexy, maddening fun! From now on, I brake for bodyguards
I'm still mad at the hero. His opening move was too mean to be forgiven so easily. It generated enough heat to make me adjust the air conditioning, though, so I suppose the heroine can't be blamed for letting him off the hook after one roundhouse punch to the jaw. I liked her a lot, and only wish the kind of persistence she demonstrates in the face of rejection was rewarded more often in real life. This was my first book by Cindy Gerrard; she's a welcome addition to my brief list of must-reads.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellentromantic thriller
The first in Gerard's series The Bodyguards, this novel delivers fast paced action with emphasis on the suspense. We follow the story of Jillian Kincade, daughter of a very wealthy family, and her need to make it on her own as a TV anchorwoman.Enter Nolan Garrett, a handsome an ex-Army ranger, who is hired by her father to be her bodyguard.Angry over her loss of privacy and independence, Jillian does not want Garrett in her life in spite of chilling threats against her life. As their mutual dislike turn into grudging respect, the attacks on Jllian intensify. The author delivers a worthy ending to this well developed plot.

Editorial Review

In 21st-century New York City, tough-as-nails cop Eve Dallas can survive a bombing, seduce her husband, and outsmart a terrorist--all on four hours of sleep. In this latest installment of the In Death series, author J.D. Robb (a.k.a. Nora Roberts) casts our heroine against an enigmatic group of terrorists named Cassandra. With no clear motivation or demands, Cassandra feeds on the thrill of senseless killing and the calculated destruction of Eve's world.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Always a hit!
Just when you think you know all the turns JD Robb can take you, she still takes you to the edge with these main characters, Eve & Roarke! She is lively, edgy, and never disappoints!Roarke adds just the edge she needs! It will make you laugh, pause & sigh, and keep turning the pages until you finish. Never gets old, as the character are always entertaining!Fast read.

5-0 out of 5 stars Larger than life
The 10th story (9 novels, 1 novella) in the In Death series gives readers a break after the emotional intensity of the preceding book, Conspiracy in Death.
3-0 out of 5 stars Not tight enough
Not bad but just quite average. There should've been a bit more work done, more interviews, etc. Anyways, the theme of arrogancy has been used in many of her books and it's starting to get a little old.

2-0 out of 5 stars Here comes a prettynegative review.
I have 3 things that I dislike about this book. First it has so many grammar and spelling errors that, at times, I had a hard time following the story. You kind of have to take a second to imagine what the author meant or fill in the missing words to continue in the story. The second thing that I really dislike about this story is that it took WAYYY too long for Vlad to reveal his true colors. Which brought on the third thing I disliked which is that Tempest is soo spunky but she continues to love him thus making her really pathetic. I won't ruin it for those of you who may read this in the future but lets just say these two deny each other wayyyyyyyy too much and then when there finally is some resolution it ain't nearly enough. I liked how Ms. Shayne tied everything from Gilgamesh to Egypt to present day together. It was very clever, but the cons in this book definitely outweigh the pros.

5-0 out of 5 stars terrific vampire romance
Five centuries ago, Lady Elisabeta "Beta" committed suicide; her surviving spouse Vlad Dracul was shocked and despondent as he felt life without her would prove unbearable. Thus he managed to save some of her soul inside a ring with the prayer that a ritual involving planetary alignment will enable him to bring back his wife using a descendent as the vehicle.
3-0 out of 5 stars Not the best of Shayne's
I was pretty disappointed. I like Maggie Shayne's books, but in this one, the hero and heroine just seemed a little too dysfunctional. I couldn't get how Stormy could be so head over heels in love with this guy who was so obviously hung up on someone else. She kept putting up with his stuff.Stormy was portrayed as a feisty and strong character, so why didn't she ever say no to Vlad? I kept wanting her to totally walk away from him. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Reviews by Nan Kilar and Bobby Miller
Walter Pettibone arrived home to find more than a hundred friends and family shouting, "Surprise!" It was his birthday and the surprise party wasn't a surprise. However, the woman with emerald eyes and red hair was. And if she had her way, this would be Mr. Pettibone's last birthday party. If you enjoyed Robb's book. "Judgment In Death" you'll not be disappointed with this title.

5-0 out of 5 stars Definitely on the Top of My In Death Favorite List
It is so hard not to have ALL of the books at the top of the "favorite" list since each story is just as good, if not better, than the last."Reunion" brings back a case Eve had closed more than 10 years ago, however, the system failed and allowed this cold killer, Julianna Dunne, to be released from prison.Julianna attacks her victims with cyanide and is a champ at disguise. She is cold and callus and out to get her revenge on Eve (for being the cop who locked her up the first time) in the worst possible way - by killing Roarke. The story is written very well (the scene in Dallas in heart wrenching) and I particularly enjoyed the comic relief with Eve putting up a big fight about medical care and an even bigger one when Roarke infringes on her territory at Cop Central. That situation was very well played out (I had read some negative reviews on the way Nora handled this, however, I do believe Roarke saw the error of his ways and more than made up for it by the end of the story). This book also celebrates Eve and Roarke's first wedding anniversary in a way that brought tears to my eyes.Any story that can touch you that deeply, is definitely well written. Also, I couldn't conclude my review without acknowledging the supporting characters as well. They always add to the excitement, suspense and romance and the series would be nothing without them.

5-0 out of 5 stars "She'd come back for Dallas. To wage war"
There is one thing that is true about J. D. Robb... she has a very special ability to engage the reader's attention. In this case, the novel starts with a bang, when we find out that Walter Pettibone has only a few hours left to live; after that we are hooked. Walter has a perfect life: he is celebrating his sixtieth birthday, is in good shape, and has a young wife, a great family and a successful business. He knows his wife is planning a surprise party, but he is not aware that he will be poisoned when making the toast.

5-0 out of 5 stars Eve wins.
Another great installment of J. D. Robb's "...In Death " series of homicide Lieutenant Eve Dallas. She collects the evidence, arrests the guilty party and maintains her position as Roarke's wife. She is amazing. Book is well written. I have or am getting the entire series.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's hard to put Robb's books down...
I have mixed feelings about Nora Roberts (aka J.D. Robb) books, mainly because of the rough language in them. But she writes so well and her stories are so engrossing that I find it hard not to pick one up and read once in a while.
4-0 out of 5 stars "The business of murder took time, patience, skill, and a tolerance for the monotonous. Lieutenant Eve Dallas had them all"
J. D. Robb is the pseudonym Nora Roberts uses for her futuristic "In death" series, set in the year 2058. Many things have changed, but other stay the same. There are criminals, and those who fight against them. Eve Dallas is one of those who try to uphold justice. "Vengeance in death", the 6th book in the series, starts by stating that "The business of murder took time, patience, skill, and a tolerance for the monotonous. Lieutenant Eve Dallas had them all".
